Just curiosity, is angelology part of catholic religion?

In ascending order, Archangels are of the lowest sphere. Next up come Dominations, then Thrones, Principalities, Virtues, Powers, Cherubim…Lucifer was a Seraphim, and yes they’re the highest order of angels. Saints Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel are all Seraphim.
One minor correction if I may: The lowest sphere is that of “angels” with archangels one step up.
St. Hilary wrote that, “Everything which seems to be empty is filled with the angels of God, and there is no place that is not inhabited by them as they go about their ministry.”
Each time a Mass is said, thousands of angels are present and are bowing in adoration before Our Lord, the Eucharist.
Your guardian angel stays with you until death and accompanies you to heaven, as your companion forever. If a soul is lost to hell, the Guardian angel of the soul of the damned joins Mary’s Choir in heaven.
Nice quote and beautiful thoughts.

Ahhh that did help. So an Archangel can be a seraph.
It seems that they can be. I think a lot of it is mere conjecture. We have allusions to the choirs in Scripture, but there is no detailed information. I think it was done that way on purpose. It’s easy to study them and turn them into idols - same with demonology. In my experience it seems that angels and archangels are the ones who work closer to us as individuals while the other choirs are much broader in scope. I guess we’ll know once we get to Heaven, eh? 😃
