How could the Catholic church be created by St Peter, if he was killed there (in ~69 )?
I don’t understand either of your posts. What point are you trying to make?Yes, but in Rome he was killed.
IIRC traditionally St Peter was said to have been Pope for 25 years which would put him in the top three of longest reigning Popes.… Peter only had a short time of being pope and leading the church, but he was still granted the distinction of being the first pope…
Peter became Pope when Christ turned His flock over to him in John 21:15-19, he remained at Jersalem for a number of years, went on to establish the church at Antioch, and then on to Rome , where he was for several years. Paul even says basically that he didn’t need to go to Rome to preach because Peter was there. So Peter was a Pope before entering Rome? Or he was killed after a long time?
Just wanted to add a point here for the OP–when Peter left Antioch he took his authority (the Keys) with him to Rome. The authority has nothing to do with the place of residence–it resides with a person. So, when Peter died in Rome, the authority passed on to the next Pope (Linus) who was in Rome.Peter became Pope when Christ turned His flock over to him in John 21:15-19, he remained at Jersalem for a number of years, went on to establish the church at Antioch, and then on to Rome , where he was for several years. Yes, Peter was Pope before he entered Rome. He spent time in Rome before he was killed. So Peter was a Pope before entering Rome? Or he was killed after a long time?
