Just For Fun - How long does it take until you experience Forum burnout?

Just seeing a revival of some of the same old questions, same old thoughts, same old threads from when I first joined which is making me wonder if I am heading for the forum burnout.
 
It’s true, the same questions keep arising over and over; they get beaten to death, then the thread peters out. Later, the same question arises again. Doesn’t matter whether it’s in apologetics, moral theology, social justice, politics, whatever.

Still, it’s sort of an addiction. So I keep logging on.
 
Yeah, I’ve had to take time away from this place occasionally.

My problem is my time is so unpredictable, so one week I’ll have lots of time, then the next I won’t. I might respond to a post and then the next week have to spend an hour reading through every response to bring myself up to date (or risk making a comment that has already been made).
 
This would have been a much more fun poll if it wasn’t public. 😦

But yeah It was when I started being irritated by no new questions AND no new answers to my usual questions, then when I felt the urge to mostly link my old posts to answer stuff that I just quit. 🤷

Sometimes I miss the old addiction and pop in and read a bit, but posting is getting kinda rare.
 
Sometimes I come here more for the comradery with certain forum members more than anything. I enjoy some of the topics. I like the insights that many non-Catholics have who are not in an apologetics mode but want to discuss the differences in theology, salvation, historical interpretations, and faith. I get tired of the apologetics side of things and especially terminology like “swim the Tiber.” If I see Tiber Swim Team 2004 one more time I’m going to cry…

There are some very intelligent people in here. Some of the Orthodox, Anglican, Lutheran folks I’ve met are very lucid, intellectual, bright folks who represent their faiths well.
 
I didn’t answer the poll because none of the answers were one that applied to me. Yes, I must agree I’ve seen many of the same quesitons over and over…however, I can remember when I was first new, most likely most of my questions or comments were “Old Questions” that many had seen “Many times before.”

Yet it helped me out a great deal, being a returning Catholic. It helped catch me up on things I had missed the many many years I was away. So when I see these same questions pop up I stop and think, I was here once before myself and now the Lord has brought more back or to the Church.
 
I realize I have reached burn out when I start making uncharitable/sarcastic comments.

Sorry. I never know which way to go with that sort of thing. I figured everyone knew it was “Just for fun” and wasn’t going to hold anyone to their answers.
 
I burned out long ago.

But I am so familiar with the type of questions on this forum, that I have set up an intricate system of automatic entries to repond to frequently repeated inquiries.

This is also an automatic response.

In reality, I haven’t been here for years. 😃
 
You forgot one…"When your responses are rude and insulting and no longer reflects the Spirit of Christ…when one’s responses no longer conform to 1 Cor 13…then one has experienced “forum burn out”.🙂

I wouldn’t say burn out, but I would say I go down in a ball of flames sometimes 😃

I still enjoy coming on here for the ones that want to cure the Catholic church in one drive by post…lol
 
I haven’t experienced so much forum burnout although I’ve been a member for a long time. I often never bothered to post much until these last few months.
I experience thread burnout when things go in circles I get dizzy!

Still trying to work out the spelling bugs.

I’m pretty burnt out in general right now, so that probably extends to this forum.

An option that was missed is when you look forward to finding threads like this.😃
