I tend to be in the more ambivilent crowd when it comes to Life Teen. Glad it’s there for those who prefer it (which is also my attitude about the TLM) , but we rarely attend the noon Mass where Life Teen is. Our parish seems to do things correctly; no teens around the altar etc so perhaps that explains the impressive adoration service I just returned from.
My daughter leaves Sat. for WYD (please keep her and her incredibly nervous father in your prayers). Tonight, the Life Teen program was holding a special prayer service as a send off for these kids so we went. I expected a few prayers, a few songs, a few huggy, kissy stuff. Not at all. Rather, the Blessed Sacrament was exposed for 45 minutes or so and the approximately 20 - 25 teens present and some adults just prayed and were with the Lord. I was amazed. Much more powerful than the hour I’ve spent on my own in our adoration chapel. It was a joyful place to be and to see so many youth in love with the Lord and I wanted to share.
