Matariel,

I definitely sympathize with what you’ve been saying, and I think the Baptist forum in question is completely awful.

But lest anyone form the idea that it’s so awful because it’s Baptist, I’d like to point out that the forum I mentioned in post #9 is a Catholic forum.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have no idea why I’m laughing and I’m sorry if you’re upset by the whole thing, but it’s just too funny 😃
Maybe you’re laughing with us…considering that some of them come here and play their “games” and expect to be treated as “special”…while fully employing a rather hypocritical double standard… and yes it is humorously ironic…😃
I’ll give this forum it’s dues, given I’m an agnostic, pro choice, and according to some here a male hating left wing ultrafeminist, that also happens to be uneducated and in need of psychiatric help - I’ve survived 2 days so far 😛
This is a pretty good forum. Lots of good people…some of them aren’t even “Catholics”…😃 Stick around…maybe we’ll all learn something… 😉

Actually Im reminded of the monthly or so threads with people whining about that Baptist board. If a Baptist site wants Baptist discussion only then I don’t see what the big deal is. Not all sites need to be open to everyone.
I thought a “Baptist Forum” would welcome everyone as much as a “Catholic Forum”. I didn’t have to sign a disclaimer saying I was Baptist. 🤷
If a Site is welcoming of you then go for it, if not just know it wasn’t the place for you, there are tons more all over the net! There is Catholic site I wanted very much to read the materials it had, but it requires me to agree that I am Catholic to get in. Now I could go into alternative definitions of Catholic or flat out lie but I don’t do that. its not a place for me. CAF lets anyone come and debate or what have you. SO I come here instead. Its simple and straight forward. Sites have different rules. People make those rules for their own reasons. I don’t get why you have to go Baptist bashing just cause they ban Catholics.
Disclaimer: I am not Baptist and they’d prob ban me at that site too!
Oh, I wasn’t trying to antagonize anyone. I didn’t bash* all *Baptists. But they had a lot of false statements on there about Catholics that didn’t go corrected. Isn’t that disingenious of the moderators?

I totally agree. A lot of Baptists, are good, nice, honest people.

I wonder if that’s the same forum I was banned from (me and a bunch of other Catholics at the same time). That board boasted (so ironically!) “The truth shall make you free”. 😃

BTW, The moderator posted why the two were banned. I actually found the site and registered so I could keep up with the hilarity. I didn’t realize the thread had gone on for 30 pages!

So, why were they banned? Is it a Baptist ONLY site?

Once you stop talking theology LOL
:banghead: Is this what you mean about “talking theology” with them?:banghead:

:extrahappy: :extrahappy: I was just thinking about one of your “recent comments”…that contained the word: “hunting”…

:rotfl: :rotfl:

I don’t know if I’m breaking any rules here or not, but for the sake of giving equal time I’ll post the moderator’s response. The OP has already reproduced his post in it’s entirety earlier in this thread. The response from the moderator came when someone asked why the two posters had been banned.

Why are you banning these two ?? Just for expressing their views?? You don’t like seeing other peoples views or beliefs?
No, I banned them because they joined together and imediately started a rant against the position of the board, particularly kitah. We do not allow members of other boards to come here at the same time for the purpose of spamming the board and starting fights. We have had catholics do that a number of times and they are never here to learn only to fight. That is called flooding the board and it is against the rules, it is what was obviously going on here. This is meant to be a fellowship board after all.
Don’t you even want to discuss it???
Not particularly, it would not have done them any good, if they had come without such an obvious agenda they would have lasted longer, but it was quite clear they were only here to fight.

“Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”

They fit both the last two…
OOPS, I guess I’m gone too!!
Not yet. :wink I suspect you are part of the same group but until I know that beyond reasonable doubt from your actions and attitude I certainly have no reason to ban you.

I know that site. The Catholic threads can be readily found under “False Religions.”

Hmmmm, two people registered on a forum site, and tried to discuss something not wholly embraced by the moderator…and that constitutes Flooding the site???

 🤷 🤷

I’m going to stop right about now on this topic…my “evil twin” has begun to scratch the surface…

This site has lots of wrong info about protestants too but if it was closed to protestants, Id still stay out.

If its the board i think it is their forum rules have some strong clues as to who is welcome:

First it says its “Private” all underlined and everything, then it says:
Code:
         1. We offer a wide range of forums. Most are for BAPTISTS only, to post opinions, views, beliefs and ideas. We also have a few forums for BAPTISTS and all other CHRISTIANS, with pertinent topics that relate to everyone.
I read that get the the message this is a Baptist private place and we might let in a few other Christians but only in a few designated areas" And with a rule like that I cant imagine them wanting people to come in an disagree with them in their private place for talking to only people who agree with them 🤷 after all most comments here are about straightening out their misconceptions. “pertinent topics that relate to everyone” wont be discussing things people disagree on.

If you want to label yourself Christian and sign up there to talk about how its a good idea to read through the Bible every year or how Christians should obey God,and you stick to the “few designated areas” they probably wont ban you.

There is a Church of Christ guy newbie there that seems to be holding his own. Again, you have to look under “False Religions” to find CoC information.

 I just got banned from a Baptist Forum… I thought they encouraged discussion? 🤷

I was banned on my very first message!

All I did was introduce myself!

Permanent ban!
You must have violated their rules , that’s all 😉

Actually , don’t mind , there is a lot more than
the real virtual sub-life !!

forums that elevate our thinking (like caf) shouldn’t be confused with virtual sub-lives like second life. 🙂

I saw that the moderator was in the thread, “Can Roman Catholics Be Saved?”

And he was talking about just because Catholics have conservative values "(anti-abortion, no same-sex marriage, et cetera) doesn’t mean squat. “They are on a path of destruction, and if any ever become saved they will be convicted and leave immediately.” blah, blah, blah.

So I said:

"Hi, I’m new to this forum, and I just wanted to say I think you’re wrong about Catholics. As a matter of fact, I must be going to Hell too, 'cause I’m thinking about becoming Catholic. 🤷
Since it appears the Catholic Church is founded by Christ and He said the “gates of Hell will not prevail against it. But I think you should find out what Catholics really believe, instead of reading second- and third-hand sources.”

Then a message came up about a minute later, saying:

YOU ARE PERMANENTLY BANNED FROM THIS FORUM
See Administrator for details.

woweeee!

blinders, blinders and more blinders to mask why their church can be considered authentic.

Truth is a demure lady, much too ladylike to knock you on your head and drag you to her cave. She is there, but people must want her, and seek her out.”
