Just signed up for Netflix! My son turned me on to it. He says it’s great. He explained the whole thing. It’s really neat and sounds like a piece of cake. I already like it. My first 2 movies arrive tommorrow.

Anyone use Netflix? I have 10 movies in my queue and have tons of reccomendations, based on my ratings of 50+ movies. My son is on my friend list!

We had it for a while and then cancelled after they raised the rates. They’ve since lowered them, but I haven’t signed up for it again. I really don’t watch TV much anymore and I’d rather have the kids spend their spare time reading or playing outside. Maybe we will try again in the summer.

I do like the way that they are set up. Their selection is way better than the local rental places and it is really convenient to do it all via the internet. I think I actually find it easier to browse their site than it is to browse an actual store.

Got it here, too! Been a member since 1998! Love it! Haven’t seen the inside of a video store in over 8 years!

I really like the set up. For one thing, it’s up to you when you return the movies. And the movies come in one or two days, my son says. I hate the way my local video store was so anal about you returning it precisely on time. So then I avoided them altogether to avoid their stupid late charges. Also, I like the way it makes reccommendations based on your likes and dislikes. I like the way you set up your queue ahead of time, that’s really cool. It just seems totally convenient to me.

Another nice thing is that you can get old TV series, current documentaries, like having the Discovery and History channels. Also, no commercials and no promos for trashy shows.

We use Blockbuster.com. Same premise except not only do you get free rentals every month but instead of returning the movie in the mail you can take it back to the store and get a free rental.

I cancelled my subscription last week, because I don’t really have the time or interest to watch so many movies these days.

I do like the selection, speed, and setup, though. It’s a great deal…just not for me at this time.

I just found this out and will be using them for a trial period. I have a BB near me and this sounds like it may have NF beat! BTW, NF is pretty darn cool.

I refuse to support Blockbuster stores. I feel they have WAY too much soft porn on their shelves, in view of children, under the drama and other categories. I’ve complained, but they don’t care.

So I have Netflix as well. Yes, they do rent questionable titles, but at least they are not out on public display.

Their selection is vast (tons of documentaries and historical movies), and the turn around time for me is amazing. There is a distribution center near by me so I get my movies in two days.

We have, however, had a bit of a bad streak with some damaged movies, but they did make it right by refunding one month of payments and giving me a free movie voucher.

We have it and love it. We have 3 separate queues set up. One for me, one for hubby and one for kids. When we send back a movie from our queue we get another from that queue. The kids can keep their movies as long as they like which is sometimes a month. We have the password so we know what is in their queue. We don’t have cable or dish so we really like this. We’ve watched old and new series and movies. We certainly get our money’s worth. I hate going to the BB store. There is too much that I don’t want the kids to see. At the BB near us the employees are so unfriendly. I had several coupons for free movies from BB and that is the only way I would go there. We have had several disc with scratches or broken. That was mainly at the beginning several years ago. They alway replaced without a problem. We will probably give my FIL a subscription for Christmas. Enjoy!

I’m glad someone posted on this! My husband and I don’t watch much TV, but enjoy a good movie, and were thinking about cancelling our cable and using part of that monthly payment to go towards netflix. I’m glad to hear wonderful reviews :).

I liked Netflix although I found it difficult getting new movies during the first couple of weeks after its release. I used it primarily for watching whole seasons of TV shows like Lost, 24, Prison Break, Smallville

We’re planning on joining, eventually, for precisely that reason.

Nexflix ,like Martha Steward’s corporation, funds the democrat party.

Any good Catholic stuff available from netflix? I mean things like EWTN dvd’s or good Catholic documentarys? I tried blockbuster but was disappointed.

I got the National Geographic special on the Vatican from Netflix, it was outstanding.

I ordered a Padre Pio video, it’s on my queue. We just watched the Secret of Roan Inish, that’s a good one.

I’m on a netflix hiatus but I tried searching for videos like that but don’t recall that I ever found anything.

I thought about renting that as I recall there wasn’t a lot of good reviews on it. I think most described it as boring and not too informative. Give me a quick review and when I rejoing maybe I’ll get it.

We were using Pius Media, but they have a limited selection and no streaming. We have since switched to Netflix so we can stream. 🙂
