Lately, I have been hearing a great deal about the fear of the spread of Islam. A friend of mine is very insecure about this. Whenever we pass a closed business, he jokes, “They’re probably going to open a mosque their…”

HOWEVER…

It is not the spread of Islam that we need to be concerned about. We should only be concerned with spreading Christianity…THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST’S DEATH AND RESURRECTION!

There is one thing us Christians can and should learn from the Muslims: put God first and His commands.

In which country? Muslim birth rates vary from country to country, with some Muslim countries having a lower birth rate than you might expect. In general, Muslims living in western countries tend to have lower birthrates than those in Muslims countries. Christians don’t have less kids because Christianity discourages having kids; they are influenced by economic and cultural factors. Those same factors influence Muslims in the same countries.

The two have nothing to do with each other whatsoever . we Christians are fanatically monotheistic. All other religions don’t come close.

The Islamic deity is singular in the sense of a separate individual. There is only but one god tallies with things like there is but only one George , there is only but me or but only you etc.

Oneness is the defining feature of divinity in the bible. In the old testament Adam ate from the tree of good and evil and was born into a world of opposites .that opposite is the key . St Paul explains in the Bible ….my mind tells me something and my body tells me something else .read all the great minds and the opposites are there . Freud drove us nuts with his ID and super ego. All the philosophers it permeates their writings .the opposites are part and parcel of the world we live in .

the oneness in Christianity is a oneness that has nothing to do with this world but you can take part in it through Jesus who is one in the sense he is without opposites .

in the Old testament the seraph appears to the prophet and declares to him that Yahweh is holy holy . he repeats the word holy to underscore the point . holy is kadosh in Hebrew. It means “other”. In Christianity divinity is not of this world. It’s a state of affairs where opposites do not exist . that is not part of our world. Jesus himself states that his kingdom is not of this world . being not out of this world is not about power and moving mountains . those are part of this world we live in. oneness is however not part of our world .look around you

Hmm. I think we should be concerned about the spread of Islam. Not overly concerned, but still concerned. You are right, though, that we should certainly (also) be concerned about spreading Christianity. Here’s food for thought - one way of fighting against Islam in particular is to devalue it. Not all Muslims are evil or terrorists, but all Muslims follow a religion that, if followed faithfully, is violent, and this is why we, as peaceful Christians, should particularly fight against Islam. I’m not saying that Islam is the only thing Christians need to worry about today (it’s not) - but it certainly is something to constantly pray about and think about in the context of evangelization. So many of our Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East/wherever over there are being murdered, in the name of Islam, because they are Christians. I don’t know about you, but I would say that is reason enough to be concerned. I want no part in Islam spreading in America or anywhere.

And lest I be accused of being hateful toward Muslims or whatever, let me close by saying that of course care must be taken to be charitable towards Muslims and all who do not share our faith - but it is impossible, when preaching the truth, to please everyone, so as long as we are doing our best to be charitable while doing it, we have done our part. We should never apologize for spreading Truth.

NGOs, NPOs and of course the UN to make a sandwich to provide to the needy rent fancy villas for thousand of dollars , buy cars for thousand of dollars, usually Toyota land cruisers , higher experts from abroad for salaries as much as ten thousand dollars a month. and the worst part of it they have to give the regime the lion share of the funds in order to operate .

Not long ago a church hired one NGO to help Christian refuges in north Africa. the fund was a whopping 350 thousand dollars . this NGO spent 50 thousands on rent for one fancy villa for a year. Bought cars for something like a hundred thousand dollars . the rest of the money went to pay for salaries , pay off the regime , and buy grain and vegetable oil. I looked at their files . all the food went to organization from another world religion associated with the regime. I saw hundreds of application by Christian refuges asking for little vegetable oil and grain stamped unapproved. An emissary from the church came and closed down the operation. By then all the money was virtually gone.

I can tell you dozens of stories like that . its always like that …

in the cities where there is no war the regime runs the show food is weapon and a conversion tool . you leave Christianity you get grain and vegetable oil and sugar . disenfranchised Christians have taken to converting to Islam . one of them I know personally converted to Islam over a dozen times. He converts and get the food then comes back to the church . then he goes an converts again to Islam and get food and so on. The great thing this Africa it’s all corruption . you convert you get half the food and the clerk gets the other half . we Christians here are resourceful .

Can’t talk much about this . but priests and nuns from the west are denied visas. We do not talk much about it . but do think of that every time you give visas to your western countries . right? They’re not reciprocating in Africa you know.

The catholic clergy here are not just any kind. They are specially picked. these are the warrior types. The nuns mother Teresa types. In terms of hardiness we got the best of the best . what the catholic church is is doing here would make you proud. .the name of the game here is unbent intent . can’t get into it too much . but know they run schools in hell holes . the majority of Christian kids don’t pay the fees . your kid has to go to catholic school else you will lose that kid …

Orphanages are operated in secret . everything has to be spread out on a small scale low key fashion so as to not attract attention. Anything large , not very large just large enough to attract attention and they pounce on you. Where did you get the money from? Who you working for ? you must be a spy . again can talk more about it . stuff gets out they lash out against defenseless Christians in retaliation. That’s why when you hear things you keep it to yourself. You try to help quietly so as not to risk a backlash .

Lets me assure you of something . all that aid money and stuff that western governments give away to these countries where Christians are minorities not a single thing goes to Christians .it goes to those who make our life more challenging than would have been otherwise …

I’m not complaining here or trying to garner your sympathy. we welcome the challenges . they are fun to have . what I’m trying to say if you want to help you’re gonna have to work for it . steer away from NGOs and NPOs. small is better . drect is better . Deal wth the catholic church . get to know the nuns they travel back and forth . pick a kid and give that five dollar to the nun when she comes she will give it to the school. Evangelizing in third world is hard . Some people delegate the responsibility to others to save themselves the headache. They have money they figure belongs to Jesus they give it to some non profit or what have you . They’re unable to assume responsibility for making sure that Jesus money is spent right judging by the NGOs that come to us . that’s understandable what else can they do ? but that is unfortunate . People gave Jesus a few fish and bread and he fed thousands of people. When he took from us he fed an army . it is therefore our duty to make sure his money is spent accordingly as much as humanely possible when we can .

Our Lord is not a taker. He calls the people and he feeds the people. But there other people who worship men whom they call prophets who go on military expedition, 86 of them , in order to feed them . And there are gangsters who form their gang and then rob and steal to provide for their gang…But our Lord does is not a taker . he took what little we had with our consent and multiplied money folds . he did no robbing and stealing and murdering people and asking ransom for booty .

Jesus set tough standards. I can’t beat them but I do the best I can. invariably I manage to triple and sometimes quadruple the value of his money in terms of the projects I do . I work it out so I provide three to four times the budget .

I also make sure to allocate a percentage for the parish priest and church . Our churches are large compounds built and maintained with much effort and at great sacrifice . they’re like community centers where Christians hang out and their kids in relative safety. This parish in this bible study project has electricity and running water . you have to consider that . . Our priests live on extremely modest stipends . they get a car that they can’t afford to operate and decent clothes and sometimes even new clothes . We try to help make our priests look good. It’s like Europe back in the day here. the offices of the clergy are one of the few avenues available to climb the social ladder . they offer hope to the disenfranchised Christian minority .you feed the priest when you can and esp when you have something nice to eat . you buy him new pants and shirts when you can.

Not many people can do what I do because I do what my father used to do and what my grandfather used to do before him. My family on my father side hail from the West . Presbyterian missionaries My mother is an indigenous African ,a catholic. Since the woman is the boss all of my siblings are all Catholics . but of course I’m not catholic because of her .i believe in the catholic church. but I have close ties to Presbyterians , ones who are part of the American experience. I move freely . few months ago a Presbyterian minster came to visit me fresh from the war zone. He is one of several my father had raised. His wife died just as they got to the city . a good woman and difficult trip. she had already been buried . we went and the edifice . then I took him to the cathedral to meet the catholic priests and nuns. It was good. They took care of him . Down here we do that. Few months ago the Coptic church came with bus loaded with their kids each with a bag full of vegetable oil, flour and sugar to give to the catholic parishioners. You hear a church got something going on you go and get some food or clothes . there is really none of that static you get else where . his holiness comes everyone from all denomination come to welcome him. Everyone. We compliment each other here sort of thing . but look I understand how some of you might feel about this. Its just that down here when they drop barrels full of explosives and nails on you , we feel it serves our survival to work together .

the money for the project of course comes from me and only money … Very important if you want to serve not to burden the church financially here . you want to do something bring your money with you . you’re gong to need it anyways . . some people see my work and want to give me money .I decline. I tell them I’m having a hard time as it is dispensing my Jesus money … this is my show. You go do your own show . there are plenty Christian refugees . look they are over there . if your eye sight is weak by all means let me take you there up close, close enough for your eyes to be able to see. .there are plenty Lazarus for you for me for everyone here . plenty of the bread of children of god to eat . all it takes is for you to be that dog that licked and comforted Lazarus . for that is the bread of the children of god . How do you feel about Catholic Relief Services? Are they helpful in your area?

CRS was great ,great blessing There was a time when bibles were like for nothing . now a decent one costs the equivalent of 3.5 dollars. That money equates to something like 115 rolls of bread .too much money for refugees.

Bibles are trucked to cities from the port or from the capital .I participated in two such bible distribution trips. one when I was just out of high school . The second trip roughly 33 years ago…

We use a Bedford lorry , a type that is popular in Africa . Now made in India. . they come in 5 ,7, and 10 capacity . Nothing can beat this lorry in Africa to this day . . very basic drive train easy to fix , tall tires for rugged roads and swamps .,operated by a crew of two, the driver and the lorry mechanic. Sometimes driver is also mechanic .

Bibles are stacked carefully at the bottom between burlap sacks of grain and sacks of sugar . more sacks are stacked on top and go higher than the vehicle . you sit on top on the sacks . you leave at down and you try to get to farthest out post ,preferably one with a military garrison and so on till you get to the city you want . a continuous bumpy ride . when you finally stop your body keeps on bumping by itself - muscles twitching .
you travel in conveys . not all of them are lorries , some are rigs . when you come to swamp or water stream everyone waits for a new lorry to come. The lorries are sometimes referred to as the sponge . eventually a relatively new one comes . it dashes into the water full throttle and then backs up on it tracks and then pushes forward , so on back and forth till it gets across . then cables are used to pull the rigs. Once a rig get across it pulls the rest . something like that .

it’s something of a way of life . people flag you down on the way and you stop to pick them up. .a lorry breaks down a bunch stop and help out .

you start early at dawn and you never stop till it sun down . If it’s an outpost there is going to be soldiers. they leave when it gets really dark a. they take combat positions around the out post . so if things happen the lorries get bombarded by both sides … you can sleep under the lorry . some do , others have snake phobia.

there are check points all the way with soldiers but they sort of melt away at nite .but they are there somehere within firing range . you have to pay at every check point . sometimes you travel over an area where there’re competing forces or tribal borders . Then it’s like border crossings you pay both .

On the first trip only one lorry was hit with mine . the lorry with the bible was in the lead . it passed right over the mine and nothing happened . the lorry behind was the one that got hit . some say miracle other say chance . but I was there and I saw that happen .
The first time the city was some 300 miles away . took one and a half days to get there . we spent the nite at a tiny out post with a bunch of hut grasses arranged defensively. The soldiers withdrew at nite . we stayed up all nite .

Once in the city you might have to pay sizable money . they know everything . they know where you’ve started the journey and what you are carrying .

. The issue with bible , they don’t cost nearly as much as the cost of distributing them . they don’t like bibles . a catholic organization was once banned for giving bibles away . the org used planes carrying aid to transport bible on the side .but it passed a lot before it got stopped .

When it comes to Africa distributing bibles does not come under freedom of religion requirement in order to qualify for western aid . I think so. I could be wrong . Not complaining. Just saying all that aid makes our life harder. you enable those who make it harder . that too is no problem. Infact the bibles themselves are no big deal . the women and men here memorize the catechism and the bible. Not everything but enough . you learn to do without it

Another issue with bibles. Bible with brief explanation/references between brackets between verses are better .

There is a serious clamp down on bibles right now .

in that the city I discovered distant relatives of my mother and I gave them a whole sack of sugar and sack of grain. I stayed with them instead of in the church compound . trip was lot of fun.

I usually ask for sources to begin with but not in challenging way . I act as though I’m on their side , as though I need it to show the world what Americans have done to the human race . a hundred million you say? wow . then of course we run into all sort of problems verifying the numbers . then hey look there more red Indians now than before . how come ?

Another thing America is perceived in the middle east as a Christian country .if you are an American your evangelizing can be hijacked by attacks on America which is then used to undermine your evangelizing . a gimmick .

The soviet union is gone but the propaganda is still peddled and more is added such as banking . so you might want to check that too . world food formula is also important to know about . you be surprised the sort fo stuff that pops when you evangelize .
Something also you will notice . people go on the attack but when you do the same to them they get offended . they cry foul.

When we fear Islam, we’re saying that God isn’t big enough or powerful enough to win. I think it helps to remember that Islam is made up of individual people. Evangelization begins with me and the people I can have a relationship with. I trust that God is taking care of those I don’t know or influence.

Yes but I also think sometimes you have to put Jesus on the back burner and pass the ammunition. Sometimes you should invoke the Lord of the army . the problem we seem more interested in being liked . we forget that appealing to someone good nature might not get you anywhere because he doesn’t have one . leveraging his interest on the battle field brings better results. Saves Christians women and children too .

Those antics do not scare us . we can be infinitely nice and infinitely not so nice . the one to fear is us when we march to the tune of the Lord of the armies .

What I’m saying if they shoot then shoot back and shoot back to end the problem in no uncertain terms. . I just don’t care for the idea of our women been taken as booty and raped and sold and our boys castrated and turned into eunuch .that is not going to happen this side of Africa. we have already fixed that problem . it took 20 years of war and slaughter . 20 more years is no problem either . otheriwise i’m for peace .

There are those who know they can not compete with our lord boundless love so they want to say our Lord can not compete with them in violence. They are one up on our Lord when it comes to mayhem and slaughter they say . I’m saying that they are making a very big mistake . I say consider the flood, and Sodom and Gomorrah and his judgment of the Canaanites . you start slitting throats of women and wives and grandmothers to show you are bad you invite the wrath of the Lord of the armies on yourself …

Where I’m at I don’t see any Islam spreading. What I see is Christianity spreading fast .the issue we have here is not with islam spreading . our issue here is how to handle the Muslims who want to or have converted to Christianity .it is against the law for a Muslim to leave Islam and convert to Christianity . it is a crime punishable by death. Another issue with Muslims when they have a serious problem like a serious illness some come to the church to ask jesus for help. that leads to accusations by Muslims who see it as attempts at Christianizing members of their faith . yet another issue Muslim women like to get married to Christian men because they believe Christianity treat women better .

You must be talking about someplace else . where is Islam spreading fast? Inquiring minds want to know.
