… there were about 40-45 abortions performed in Pensacola, Florida last Friday. I counted about 28 women going into one abortion clinic and I heard that there had been 15-18 women at the other.

Just think: if 40 children–or people of any age, in fact–had died in some accident, it would have been headline news all across the country. If some disease that affected only the unborn had taken this toll, we would have heard about it. Yet we have this death toll in one smallish American city; God only (literally–I don’t think there are statistics kept on this) knows what the toll is for the entire country. When 16 people die in Iraq, we hear about it; when 40 unborn babies die in Pensacola, there is only silence.

Yes, a conspiracy of silence. 😦

There are hundreds of shows on television describing and showing every detail of almost every medical procedure known to man. Watch a little girl get her cleft pallet fixed; Or a woman get a hip replaced; Or a guy get fixed up after a shooting; Even direct genital shots as women give birth or get tightened up with a vaginoplasty. But when is the last time anyone ever saw the Discovery Channel detailing an abortion procedure? Never.

No one wants to talk about it. Yet they want it to be legal. What other medical procedure is this taboo, and yet fought for as necessary? Its hypocrisy at its greatest.

According to Priest for Life - over 4000 a day, 1,460,000 - just in the good old USA. I wonder, what percent is Catholic? Anyone have the numbers?

I just read an AP news story about the upcoming UCCCB conference. A commentator who is a priest and former editor of *America *magazine, expressed his dismay that the war in Iraq is not on the bishops’ prepared agenda. He said the war is the greatest moral problem facing the the Church in the US today.

Has abortion left the radar screen?

Also, a person identified earlier in the article as the spokesperson for the USCCB remarked that he was upset with the fact that the bishops had scheduled so much time for prayer and meditation into the conference.

Ever feel like you’re swimming upstream?

CRW,

I’m a relative newcomer to this sort of activity, but I have been told that cars drive into the abortion clinic parking lot with rosaries hanging from their rearview mirrors. The person who told me this said that he had seen this himself; he added that he had not seen, but had heard, that cars with “Choose Life” license plates had gone in.

Interestingly, the abortion clinic that I was at is not marked in any way apart from the house number. Were it not for the police car parked out front, the patients going in and out, and the very evident police presence you would never know what goes on in there. The abortionist is driven in by a policeman in an unmarked car; he wears a full-face white mask (I have heard it called a hockey mask, but it also looks from a distance like a Jason mask from “Friday the 13th”) which he presumably takes off once he is inside the building.

Google Maps is generally very careful to remove the people from its satellite photos, but if you look closely at the photo of this abortion clinic you can see the police car on the street out front and a couple of dots where the pro-life protesters are.

According to the Center for Bioethtical Reform, who got their stats from the Alan Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of Planned Parenthood, which has never seen an abortion it didn’t like,

27% are Catholic who have abortions.

By the way, I have seen cars with pro-life bumper stickers going in to the abortion mill.

That is why we need to talk about this and educate the person in the pew next to us and the parish should have a regular outreach to post-abortive women and men and there should be preaching about it. Also, regular donations from the parish to the CPC. Voter registration and education before every major primary and election.

Support the Center for Bioethical Research. They overcome the deafening silence by bypassing the normal media. See their website, <abort73.com>. Show it to your friends who just voted Democrat.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY, go to the local killing center at least one hour a year. Everyone can do that.
