Pray for this woman, she sounds post-abortive to me.
This is really a horrible rotten thing to say. I am so shocked at the judgment - MOST UNCHRISTIAN to assume she has had an abortion. Completely offensive coming from this forum.

How about just pray for this woman?

And to the OP - I am sooooo sorry that you did have to experience such anger and sorry for your daughter. What a horrible situation.

Actually, I was thinking the same thing. It’s not judgemental, but that just happens to be the mindset of many of those involved in the abortion industry. I think it’s most likely she’s an activist, or may even have worked in an abortion clinic herself. WHERE ELSE do you think the idea that a child is an “IT” came from?

I would NOT be surprised if that woman was an abortionist herself.

Call me judgemental if you will…

I am sorry but this is HORRIBLE.
I have reported both of the posts.

We should not be calling people abortionists and post- aborts in this forum.

I think people meant that behavior like that could be a result of psychological/emotional trauma that might have been caused by an abortion. Like post-abortion syndrome, and all that?

I don’t think anyone meant to pass judgement on this woman!! She obviously needs help!!!

As the OP I agree. She needs help. Normal people don’t say “If I had a mallot I would have hit it in the head”. And to insist that a child is an “it” also isn’t normal and is the language of the abortion industry (which is why some may have thought she was part of an abortion in some way). She really looked well put together, not disheveled, not talking to herself, she seemed like a normal woman, just very angry. But yes, she needs prayers.

Absolutely agreed that the behavior is not normal. Absolutely agree that what your daughter endured because of this woman is wrong.

Though we cannot insinuate that this woman is pro-abortion, has had an abortion, or is an abortionist. That is wrong.

We do not know the mental state of this woman - even though she was nicely polished in appearance. My ex husband looks like a top executive - though he is extraordinarily mentally ill. You would never know.

We don’t know that this woman cannot have kids and has bitter feelings toward kids, maybe she has had a tragedy in life, who knows. To insinuate that she has done wicked things is deplorable in a Catholic site.

She may not be in control of her actions and mind BUT WE ARE.
To those who are inclined to insist this woman has committed grave mortal sins PLEASE STOP.

Since when does being angry equal having an abortion?
Kathy

Why do you guys just assume she’s mentally ill? There are many, many nasty people out their that HATE kids…so much so that they have enough anger in them to take it out on them when they happen to be in their path.

That’s not mental illness. That’s a choice to be hateful.

OP, I am so sorry you and your baby went through this. I agree with the poster that you should pressure CVS to look at their security cameras. She needs to be prosecuted.
I agree, I worked several years with dementia and Alzheimers. Although they could have violent episodes, their hearts would almots always melt when children or babies were near, their faces would light up with smiles, they would reach out their hands. What this gal did was spiteful and an act of anger, may God have mercy on this woman. I’m sorry this happened.

A friend recently told me that sometimes we need to pray to saints like Thomas a Becket for the strength to stand up for what is good and right. Turning the other cheek is not always the right reaction, and I for one, would have inflicted some purgatory on this woman myself.
The hurt, both physical and emotional, that your poor daughter must have felt, would send me over the edge.
Child abusers need prayers, yes, but not the free pass to do it again. Have mercy on the woman’s misguided soul, not her actions.

 gmarie21, I am so sorry you and your dear one were hurt. God’s blessing on you and your family.
Sounds like you had a brush with the old serpent himself. Pray she does not have children of her own at home to mistreat!

There are some things that I would happily pay a disorderly conduct fine for, or sit in Jail for a few days.

Perhaps the worst thing in all of this is that woman thinks she can get away with that type of behavior.

Indeed. I am not known for my good temper in such situations. I think I would have sat on her until the police arrived. But that’s hindsight, and I’m glad you and your dd are OK, Marie.

Someone who would act so hateful must have tremendous evil attached to them. How very sad that the women doesn’t understand that children are a gift from God! How incredible it could be to have your child pray for that person. What graces your family would receive! Those types of people haunt my rosaries begging for prayers.

Well, my dd is okay, she has a big cut on her face from it (but we’ve been taking care of it and the manager at the CVS was extremely helpful). The police said that they’d ask CVS employees to keep their eye out for this woman again to try to get a name, so we’ll see.

Another poster stated that she/he thought the woman was older, she wasn’t. She was about 34 or so. I think the only reason I held myself back from hitting this woman was b/c I was more worried about my dd than this ignorant (probably pro-abortion the way she was talking about my dd and children in general, but that’s my assumption) woman. My dd did notice how the woman didn’t say she was “sorry” and my dd kept asking why the woman didn’t say she was “sorry”. It definitely was a teaching opportunity about forgiveness and also that there are people who do bad things to children in this world.

Thank you all for your concern. I guess I just was so shocked by it all and couldn’t believe someone would do such a thing (especially a woman who’s attire would lead one to believe she was well put together).
I feel so bad for your dd. It really upsets me, this post. Who knows what was going through that woman’s mind…but people shouldn’t be allowed to physically accost someone without a consequence? Please give a hug to your dd, from me…ok?😦 :console:

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry. What an appalling thing to happen to you and your dd. I am at a loss to understand what makes people think they can act this way and even want to. I hope you and your dd are feeling much better. ((hugs))

Yo-Ho-Bro! If the jerk was only a man… there are only so many verbal assaults that can be voiced, and in this “chick’s” case, she’d probably not even understand 1/2 of them…

This was assault, and I think you would have been justified in making a citizen’s arrest:

"A citizen’s arrest is a formal arrest by a citizen who has no official government authority to make such an arrest as an agent of the government. The California Penal Code gives any citizen the right to make a citizen’s arrest of another citizen in three alternative situations:

A public offense was committed or attempted in the citizen’s presence.

The person arrested has committed a felony, although not in the citizen’s presence.

A felony has been in fact committed and the citizen has reasonable cause for believing the person arrested has committed it. "

I’m not sure this was a felony, but I might have taken the chance.
I believe citizens can make arrests in any state in the US.

So very sorry that your miracle from God had to be involved in such a hateful scene.

The best “medicine” for this ailment IMHO is

Hail Mary, Full of Grace! Theotokos!

Keep these people under your emmaculate mantle, pray for them as they need to know the comfort of your Son.

Mary, Mother of God, Mother of us all, help those that do not yet know your Son, to hear Him

Mother Mary, pray for us sinners

despise not our petitions,
Know that we ask these things in your Son’s name,
Jesus Christ,
Amen
