One of my favorites! No, it is not the differing beliefs that are the problem.

disagreement is not a problem either. Lack of charity is a problem, hostility is a problem, and a mission to convert Catholics is a problem. You might wish to read the rules of the forum with regard to those.
I have nowhere been hostile or uncharitable. Can you tell me where?

It seems that if you post something that contradicts the Catholic Church here, you are “lacking charity.” Telling people (Catholics only) they are wrong is “lacking charity.”

I find this totally intriguing, though consistent with my experience. I have heard all this before.

As to trying to convert Catholics, this is a boldly false charge. I have never posted invitations to my church nor have I proselytized anywhere. I am concerned why you would indict me for a lack of charity when you would so brazenly charge me with something I am plainly and obviously not guilty of.

I have told you why I am here but you prefer your own fable. That is your business.

[SIGN]Don’t pay any attention to him. He’s exercising this ploy wherever and whenever he finds opposition. He switches over to ad hominem posts rather than sticking with the subject at hand. That’s against the rules because he’s suppose to be discussing the topic. [/SIGN]

Sure.

In another thread, you responded to a question about plucking out one’s eye by saying, and I quote:
Okey Dokey

LOL
Many (if not most) of your posts have an arrogant, dismissive and belittling tone. I can handle most of that, but don’t deceive yourself into thinking that you are behaving as a model citizen…

I wonder if he thought that as a non-practicing Catholic who now opposes the Church he would be able to waltz in here and mop the floor with us.

Now that he has run into some knowledgeable opposition, he is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

If he just leaves the forum, he acknowledges that he is not as smart as he thought.

If he stays and actually discusses real content, then he gets schooled by those who know better.

Hence the the third approach.

I was talking about Guanaphore. Atemi should pay Guanaphore no mind when he posts ad hominem messages. Both you and he (Guanpahore) need to stick to the topic at hand and not make personal remarks.

I do not wish to go back thru all your posts and scour them. However, when I come across them, I will send you a PM. I see some of the other poster’s have already responded to this.

I just saw a nice post by jmcrae giving you an idea how you can disagree without giving offense. The fact that you disagree or don’t believe is not a problem. It is HOW that is the problem.

You mean, you have tried to attack Catholic beliefs in the past, and have found Catholics getting defensive? Or do you mean you have already received the feedback that your manner is abrasive?

It was a question, not a charge. I am still searching for your motivation for being here. I thought I may have stumbled across it! I can see that you are well motivated, I am just not sure what it is!
I have told you why I am here but you prefer your own fable. That is your business.
Actually, you did not. You told me that my assumption was erroneous, which I accept.

BTW, changing the title in the middle of the thread is agains the forum rules. 😃
Double BTW we are WAY off topic! 😃

That’s why it is God who is faithful and just to forgive us of all sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

This is also why God is the perfect and infinitely superior bearer of forgiveness.

We should all prefer the Source.
God does the forgiving but left Bishops in charge.
Ignatius who was a diciple of the Apostle John disagrees with this Opinion.

“For where there is division and wrath, God does not dwell. To all them that repent, the Lord grants forgiveness, if they turn in penitence to the unity of God, and to communion with the bishop” (ibid., 8).

The Bishops are sucessors of the Apostles and communion with them is not a choice.
According to This Protestant Patristic scholar he aso does not agree with you.
Seeing that the historians who are familiar with the Fathers; who specialize in patristics and Church history and history of theology or of doctrinal development of same,do not agree you who shall we trust as an authority for the views of the Church Fathers and the infant Church concerning the Rule of Faith, or the relationship between Bible, Tradition, apostolic succession, and the Historical Church?

**Protestant Historical Scholar Philip Schaff – HISTORY of the CHRISTIAN CHURCH
CHAPTER IV:

** The ministerial office was instituted by the Lord before his ascension, and solemnly inaugurated on the first Christian Pentecost by the outpouring of the Holy Ghost, to be the regular organ of the kingly power of Christ on earth in founding, maintaining, and extending the church. It appears in the New Testament under different names, descriptive of its various functions:—the “ministry of the word,” “of the Spirit,” “of righteousness,” “of reconciliation.” It includes the preaching of the gospel, the administration of the sacraments, and church discipline or the power of the keys, the power to open and shut the gates of the kingdom of heaven, in other words, to declare to the penitent the forgiveness of sins, and to the unworthy excommunication in the name and by the Authority of Christ.
The idea and institution of a special priesthood, distinct from the body of the people, with the accompanying notion of sacrifice and altar, passed imperceptibly from Jewish reminiscences and analogies into the Christian church.
In the external organization of the church, several important changes appear in the period before us. The distinction of clergy and laity, and the sacerdotal view of the ministry becomes prominent and fixed; subordinate church offices are multiplied; the episcopate arises; the beginnings of the Roman primacy appear; and the exclusive unity of the Catholic church develops itself in opposition to heretics and schismatics. The apostolical organization of the first century now gives place to the Catholic episcopal system.
