If my comment was harsh, then you may need to take that plank from your eye. šŸ‘
If you think my comment was also harsh then I apologize to Faithdancer. But I think he/she would freely identify as a TULIP, not so much Judas.

I wonder if Judas Iscariot liked TULIPs… 🤷 šŸ˜‰
Well that is quite disappointing considering posters here used ā€œloveā€ and ā€œcharityā€ to also try and explain these good works James may have talked about. 😊

But honestly you kinda took it seriously in a major wrong direction there. I’m sure (and truly hope) you have your reasons, (But that is not the Catholicism I know and respect).

Regards

With regard to Faith, I have heard arguments that Faith is more that intellectual assent (I agree) and that it must include trust (I agree) but it must also include fidelity which I think is what James is saying and I can’t seem to get agreement on that.

LOL, the mountain thing still getting to you, I actually remember that.
Well so far we agree on faith. Although I see a poster here talking about a different ā€œmountainā€ verse. (Googling it I found many ā€œmountainsā€ in the Bible :p) I referred to the verse about faith the size of a mustard seed and then commanding a mountain to move.

There are many things on here still getting to me. 😃

I do not think your comment was harsh, hence why I said ā€œIf my comment was harshā€. I just found it interesting that you found mine harsh considering your comment was basically the same thing.

Michael,

Please accept my apology if you were offended. My comment was to satirically prove a theological point and NOT to undermine an individual’s personal beliefs.

Excuse the satire. How did Judas not resist grace?

Cheers! šŸ‘

AHHHHHH, now I get it…went over my head the first time. Thanks for the clarification. Guess I’m guilty of reading a sentence and putting my own interpretation to it.

It’s all good! I am not correlating anyone with Judas Iscariot! My point was that Judas DID RESIST grace, hence the satire, ā€œI wonder if Judas Iscariot liked TULIPSā€. šŸ™‚

OK, lets play nice, AugustTherese, I read your post as if you were calling Faithdancer a ā€œJudasā€ which is how I believe he/she took it. We know better now so hopefully we can move on.

Of course under Calvinism, Judas was never offered the gift of grace because he was not elected. But we certainly digress off topic here.

Acts 4:27-29.

I’m not so sure even the harshest Calvinist would say that without a doubt.

Understood. šŸ™‚

Hey, I guess it happens even in the best of homes. But seriously, Calvinism is spread across all Protestantism isn’t it? Didn’t the Puritans come from the Church of England?
Yup.

Anglicans as a whole are pretty diverse.

I was part of a very ā€œhigh churchā€, conservative parish where losing salvation was a concern… so tulip promotion still sounds funny to me coming from an Anglican.

Hi Michael

What are your thoughts on TULIP and OSAS?

I know it’s not exactly the OP topic but I’m sure the OP does not mind.šŸ˜‰
