Fair enough. Matthew 16:18, especially 19?
This is all good an well. And even If one concedes that “all the apostolic churches which Rome affirms” 🙂 actually agree with the understanding of this one verse, you still sit with a big elephant in the room.

Proving Peter was actually in Rome?

A poster on here normally answers with, “Google the list of Popes”. I did that. Then after some extensive research, some numerous Popes being “appointed” because the Western Emperor wished it. Some teens getting the papacy because their family was powerful and then selling it and their uncle got it. Or even the case were a dove sat on a persons shoulder and He became Pope because of that  (Google it, true story). The “line” of Popes are very flimsy at best here.

There are many more things to clarify than just Mt 16:18 or especially 19 for this one.

Regards

Indeed.
And later to all the disciples.
Nope. The keys were given only to Saint Peter. The authority of binding and loosing is shared among the Apostolic College inasmuch as they are in full communion with Saint Peter and his successors. Have you ever wondered why the Orthodox Church has never successfully convened one Ecumenical Council?

Nope. The keys are shared by the entire Church. An Anglican priest, an Orthodox priest, a Lutheran pastor.
I would contend there have been no ecumenical councils at all since the Great Schism

And also no. Maybe I should use a Catholic thinking here… A council is called when it is needed? Maybe it wasn’t needed? 😊

For almost a 1000 years. That seems like a victory :extrahappy:

Who did Jesus say this to? Peter!

Our brethren in the Eastern Church at least hold to the statement that Peter has a primacy among the Apostles based on this statement.

What does St. James mean when he talks about faith and good works; does he not put them both together an equal status so to speak? and Also what does St. Paul mean when he talks about works? What works is St. Paul speaking about? is that somehow different from what St. James was talking about or were there two different thoughts or preaching Converted Pharicees that they were doing in Jerusalem and outside where St. Paul was traveling.

it seems to me once this is figured out it should I think blend in together and become more understood.

Maybe!

It still does not answer the question.

First among equals would not be the answer. We all know how it is explained today. Or even accepted.

So, there is no such thing as heresy, schism, and/or apostasy?
