it was a sin when we photocopied pages from textbooks and other published material to circulate in a college class, and also illegal, there were lawsuits about both these practices.

This kind of exageration already…
You will find copying books and articles in all seminars and in all Universities of the world and guess even in the Vatican …

This copyright issue is not clear to me at all… to conclude that if I have a copyright of, say, a photo and somebody is using it is committing a sin is nonsense. As I say, making a copy of something is not going to left the original author less rich.

Copyright is the way to protect the possibility of earn money with a product, yes, but it s more about acknowledging the authorship of that product.

Everything is not Copyrighted.

A lot of Irish and Scottish music is played by Ear. A lot of Fiddle Players can not read music. They hear the Tune and just play it. Some tunes they dont even know the name of them and they have been playing them all their life.

Playing to music is discouraged in the Irish Traditional Music Circut because it was handed down to play by Ear from one generation to the next and they want that to continue and they will tell you that people that play to music cant play.

It is a life long controveresy.
