…and in other breaking Justin Bieber news this week, Page Six reports on the threesome he had with two models!

Too weird.

Hillsong seems to be a very touch-feely, non-denom type of church with locations in Manhattan and NJ.

The words ‘celebrity pastor’ and ‘mega-church’ raised the warning signals for me. And the fact that this was even made a big deal of.

Hillsong started here in Australia, I know a few people in this church. It is non-denominational with the bands on stage, hands in the air, swaying and dancing type of church. Appeals to a lot of young people.

The founder Ps Brian Houston grew up in the Assembly of Gods denomination.

They were involved with and sang several times at the World Youth Day in Sydney which is a Catholic Church worldwide event for young Catholics. That’s when I first met some songsters.

I’m not a fan, but it seems that he’s torn between the world and his Christian roots. He keeps going back to church, but then he goes off the rails again. Back and forth. I’ve often thought that he’s trying to fill a hole that can’t be filled by anything else other than God. He has all the money and women in the world, and yet he seems miserable a lot of the time. I think we need to pray for him and for everyone who is lost and searching for God.

Yes…pray!

You have to remember, when it comes to things like this with celebrities, usually its not real, their entire lives, actions, daily things, are all heavily ‘scripted’, they have agents, publicists, whose job it is, to post things about them, all fitting to whatever ‘image’ they want to be associated with at the time.

Miley Cirrus is a great example, there are always posts and reports of her crazy antics, but Id bet in real life, she is nothing like this, its all done to make them seem like a certain thing to the millions of people who follow them.

Good point and I agree wholeheartedly with you there. A lot is a carefully crafted image.

However, when you strip away the glamour, the publicists, and all those attachments, I don’t think he’s as far off as other people who have seemed to reach to pinnacle of success and found that it was lacking of any real meaning or worth. The happiness is fleeting, the fulfillment only lasts until you get your next whim. A lot of people just end up burning out. You don’t only see this with the rich and famous…I guess it’s just human nature. We were made by God FOR God, and in the meantime we’re trying to fill that God sized hole, without realizing that He is the only One that can fill it.

I don’t know Justin Beiber and I admit that I don’t follow him closely. I think it’s apparent though that he’s self-destructing. Although I agree that a lot of this could be fake; I don’t think this is the image of him that his publicists want out here. (I could be wrong) In either event, he can definitely use some prayers, as we all could! Thanks for your feedback!

True. I’m just used to people being baptized when they are much younger.
Go to the Easter vigil and you will hopefully see people of all walks being baptized. In our current RCIA class we have 7 year olds to 75 year olds and most everything in between.

It’s funny though, adult baptism still feels like the norm to me since my conversion because I help with RCIA and see adults (or older kids) get baptized every year, but the infant baptisms are more private so I haven’t been to one yet.

My daughter is in RCIA now.
