Juventutem (Latin: Fœderatio Internationalis Juventutem) is an international movement of young Roman Catholics of the ages 16 to 30 who are attached to the Tridentine Mass.[1] The aim of the society is to foster and strengthen relationships between these young people at the national and international levels, and to encourage and assist them in developing their faith.

Juventutem was established in April 2004 with the intention of having a delegation present at the international World Youth Day in 2005 and in subsequent years. The first Juventutem meeting was in 2005 in Cologne, Germany, and was the first official delegation to any World Youth Day. More than 1000 young people from more than 20 countries attended Juventutem Cologne. Two cardinals and eight bishops participated in parts or all of the two week meeting, as well as many priests, religious and seminarians from around the world.[1]

I recently found out about this group. There doesn’t seem to be a strong presence in the U.S.

I definitely have a love for young people and evangelizing to young people.

Is anyone familiar with this group or any other similar groups active in the U.S.?

I seriously want to start a Juventutem chapter in my diocese. But I am only 15… Poo!

I helped set up the chapter at the Oratory near me (when I am at home and not at university), and met them at World Youth Day. Really good youth group, FSSP or ICRSS tends to be the Chaplains. if you find a chapter near you I do recommend them, they provided us with some excellent material for catechesis etc.

Yeah. I’m trying to find one or would like to help in setting one up to.

I have to find out more about their mission though.

They made an appearance on EWTN a while back. Here is their web site juventutem.org/pages/intro.php
I met the priest who talked about the program on the EWTN show just a few months ago, Our Lady of Guadalupe had sent a soccer team here for a tournament we were holding. It sounds like a great group, though it sounds as if it’s just starting to catch on. Brick by brick!
