nice! i think i accidentally found a very easy way as well. recently a friend invited me to be present when some JW’s came to “bible study” with her and her family. my intention was to really listen and understand, to ask valid questions, and basically to “test my skills” against a protestant for the first time. i wanted to know if i was ready or not.

well after a few minutes my friends had already started to question their first point, that Genesis says there is no soul without the body and when we die we are pretty much non-existent until the resurrection.

after a while i couldn’t take it any longer and simply asked, “what is your authority regarding this? what happens when people have different interpretations, where do you go? why should i listen to you? if we can’t establish your credibility, i think it’s somewhat of a waste and will just lead to endless hours scripture ping pong…”

after they stumbled about, repeating the inerrancy of the Bible, i simply mentioned the Catholic Church and that really set off a button for the couple. they were suddenly busy and out of time. they haven’t returned since. i felt really bad for being impatient and having my first session end somewhat bitterly.

so anyways, i personally think the root of it all often just goes back to Matthew 16:18 and the authority of the Church. apparently your house will be cleared in a matter of minutes and will be red flagged before you can even reach for your Rosary…

Those “drones” are unselfish people who’ve decided to volunteer their time out of love of God and neighbor to help others learn about the Bible. Even in the face of insulting, unappreciative comments they work hard all day long without pay to help others learn about the Bible. This is a volunteer assignment. They can leave anytime they want.

JW’s attend meetings 3 days a week out of interest in the topic, Love of God, and love of neighbor. College students attend classes all day long 5 days a week and I doublt you’d be concern about their dedication.

People are not disfellowshipped for missing meetings or not being zealous.

Thank you for watching the videos.
I watched a snippet of one video. My conscience would not let me watch any more.

Wow, must be very nice. How many times have you read through the entire Bible to come this this dogmatic conclusion?
Wasn’t me. It was the Holy Catholic Church and the rest of Christianity that has excluded the Watchtower from fellowship because of your twisting and destruction of scripture. You follow a doctrine unlike any other and have cut yourself off from membership in the body of believers. Even the mormons think that you are weird.

I understand that many people hold their beliefs, not because they’ve read through the Bible for themselves, but because someone else has told them what to believe.

Thanks for the conversation, keep up your studies.

Weak answer and nothing is more typical than a jehovah’s witness, mindlessly trudging down the street, holding his Watchtower, fervently believing everything that his Master in Brooklyn has told him. Sad. BTW, which bible have you read through? The Watchtower’s gimmicked version, cobbled together by five anonymous non-bible writers or the one every Christian is familiar with? Hmmmmmm?

I’ve read 50 different Bible Translations and have checked every word of the NWT against various parallel Bibles including the 26-in-1, 8-in-1, and 4-in-one.

I’ve also double checked the key doctrinal scriptures against multiple Hebrew and Greek Interlinears and dozens of other translations. I’ve got a library filled with word dictionaries, lexicons, concordances, and multiple Bible software programs.

I’ve carefully reviewed the doctrinal beliefs of Catholics vs. Protestants, vs. Muslims.

I’ve read more anti-JW books than you are likely aware that exist.

For a guy who is convinced he is “ultimately right and I’m ultimately wrong”, you’re making a lot of silly assumptions about me.

Once again, how many times have you read through the Bible and how many Bible translations have you gone through word for word?

Have you really done your own homework, or are you a person who’s been told what to believe by some church?

Hi

My friends BibleSteve and hosemonkey!

I again request you both ,please don’t be personal and don’t indulge in contentious debate, that only creates animosity and does no good to anyone ,please remain courtious and have a friendly dicussion on some good topic.

Let us say the subject should be: attributes of Catholic God and attributes of JWs God from OTBible. Please bring forth your reasonable and rational arguments on the subject, and let others also join the discussion.

May GodAllahYHWH bless you both!

Thank you

There were a lot of happy employees in the video working in the publishing department. I don’t recall seeing any happy employees working in the writing department. Why is that?

Overall the video gave me flashbacks to those orientation videos that the HR person would show you on the first day you started any new job.

And after all this study you are still trapped in the Watchtower cult? This only proves to me the extent of JWs brainwashing. But then, it is no sin to be ignorant, it is a sin to remain so. I trust the wisdom of the Catholic Church, whose 2000 years of study, prayer and scholarship certainly trump the fantasies of Rutherford and Russel any day of the week. Why believe in a counterfeit when you can have the real thing? It is obvious that you are confirmed in your heresy, so, unless moved to truth by the Holy Spirit, so you shall remain. I will pray for you and all JWs, but this is my last word to you on this subject.

I wish we could hook BibleSteve up with Zerinus. They both claim to have exhaustively studied the Bible, but obviously have come to different conclusions about meanings found therein.

It is never surprising to find one who has studied the Bible at great length come to heterodox conclusions about meanings. This is as old as the Bible itself. That’s why God didn’t establish a Bible first, but rather an authoritative Church, which then went on to write the Bible.

It would be fascinating to observe them have a go at one another’s religions, in view of the similarities between them, as well as the door-knocking thing which they share.
Hi

I would like to have them ( both BibleSteve and Zerinus as suggested by my Catholic friends ) a friendly discussion only not a contentious debate which only creates hatred and solves no problem, the discussion should be joined by others also.

Thanks

I’ve also found this a fascinating aspect about the Bible.

This is why I appreciate talking with others who’ve really done their own homework, reading the Bible many times in great detail. I appreciate and respect their efforts and opinions on what they’ve concluded.

Hi

I suggested a subject : **Attributes of JWsGod ;Attributes of CatholicGod - a Comparative Study **for the frindly discussion between the learned friends/brothers.

Thanks

Then you approach this as a sort of hobby?

The reason I put it that way, is that the message of salvation brought to the world by the Church, by means of the teachings of the Lord Jesus, is very serious business. When the Bible and Tradition are misinterpreted, resulting in erroneous doctrines, then souls may be lost for eternity.

if after all that you still follow JW’s teachings, wouldn’t that be like getting a Ph.D. from Harvard University then working at McDonald’s? sorry for the crudeness but i don’t understand the logic.

what good is studying 50 translations when they’re all modifications of the original Catholic translations? wouldn’t it be more logical to study the Catholic translations, then figure out why the Protestant translations introduced certain changes? then you can go back to the Greek/Hebrew and figure out why each one interpreted it the way they did. going backwards like it seems you have done would only reinforce the invalidity of Catholic doctrines…

Johnny,

This was an answer to someone who incorrectly thought I had only read the NWT…

“if after all that you still follow JW’s teachings, wouldn’t that be like getting a Ph.D. from Harvard University then working at McDonald’s? sorry for the crudeness but i don’t understand the logic.”
I do not understand the logic either. I suppose that BibleSteve illustrates the old adage that “knowledge does not wisdom make.”

I say that rejecting the truth of the Catholic Church is like rejecting a banquet in favor of a bad baloney sandwich. My momma always told me “never eat green meat”, the Watchtower is green meat.😃

Ants are also very well organized. What was scary to me was watching the drones in your video mindlessly tending the machines and packing the books by the millions. Knowing that these worker ants were working for almost nothing is even scarier because of the mind manipulation that must be required to make them perform under such conditions. I am certainly surprised that the environmentalists have not jumped on the JWs in outrage for all the resourses (paper, etc) that they are wasting. Are these 3 meetings a week mandatory? I am told that if one is not sufficiently zealous, that one can be “disfellowshipped” (shudder)
BTW, it’s not always about money, at a certain level it becomes all about power and control. JW’s have submitted themselves to that control, very much like the Borg.
A JW will be DF’d if he/she misses meetings. They are 100% mandatory.

This is only meant for hosemonkey and for all who aren’t JWs. The above statment is false!!! If you do miss meetings, YOU WILL BE DISFELLOWSHIPPED!!! I know it for a fact. My SIL was DF’d for not attending. MY DH was DF’d for marrying a Catholic but wasn’t allowed back in because he missed those MANDATORY meetings. If you miss a meeting, they will call you. If you miss many they will bring it to your attention. If you do not attend after them speaking to you about it, you will be DF’d. I know it and any JW that will say this isn’t true is lying to you. I know this because I attended their meetings for over a yr and I studied w/them for about the same time. Oh, and I have been living w/one ever since I married him 16 mos ago.

JWs get DF’d for the lamest reasons. If you question the governing body, if you constantly miss meetings, if you don’t preach, if you don’t have enough preaching hrs, if you receive or donate blood, if you marry a non-JW, if you have pre-marital sex (not that this one is acceptable even in the CC), if you question JW beliefs, if you read anti-JW literature, if you read non-JW literature, if you accept non-JW literature from a person you are preaching to, if you enter a Church, the list goes on and on… oh and my favorite of all, if you begin to accept the Trinity.

And let me reiterate, this is only for hosemonkey and any person who isn’t a JW. I refuse to speak to any and all JWs, especially one I told not to contact me at all, and he know who he is, so please do not contact me.
