They really have a point system for conversion work?
I’ve been out for 25 years but when I was in the reporting system worked like this.

Once a week every member would fill out a Time in Field Service Card, a small paper form that had the reporters name on it and the dates covered

The form was organized like a small spread sheet. The far left column is for each day of the week. Across the top row categories listed:

Hours - Bibles - Magazines - Books - Other Publications - Return Visits - Bible Studies (possibly others it’s been a while)

You just recorded it on this form and totaled it up at the bottom and turned it in. If you didn’t report for one full calendar month you were considered “Inactive.”

I just found a pic of the card here it is:

Well it’s not exactly as I recall, but close. Sorry for my inaccuracy. I remember doing it weekly, this one says monthly. Maybe it changed?

They target Catholics, since they assume you are all ignorant and don’t read the bible. They think you read the Catechism exclusively. I’ve had them say that. JWs think Catholics are the most easily converted.

One JW I meet with would go into anti-Catholic tirades whenever Russell or date setting was mentioned. I’d have to politely inform him I’m not Catholic!😃

OP, it hit me when you mentioned that bible verse where they may be going with that one. They use this very often to “disprove” Hell. They dont believe in it and they repeatedly refer to that verse in their “proof” it does not exist.

Be warned.

JW in here target poor people usually…these guys have got money…is it better not to let them in? or to let them in and engage with them if we got the adequate knowlege?

I think you should let them in inJesus.
You are very familliar with the anti-trinity arguments Muslims present. They are non-trinitarians. You can use much of your apologetics skills you have used with Muslims with them.
ever heard of a JW who converted because someone “else” influenced him? because these people seem so hard headed that even if shown wrong, they’ll keep believing it’s true ( like all cults). So better debate with them to convert them back to the faith or it’s a waste of time?
We are to welcome the stranger at our door. And they dont get any stranger than this, trust me.

The JDubs are a hoot, aren’t they? I have also had the same woman, sometimes with another one, coming for years. They just drop off their latest birdcage liner, often making small talk, etc. If they are trying to “save” me, they aren’t doing a very good job. I haven’t had the chance to refute them because they never say anything. I would have expected an invite to Kingdom hall long ago.

They [JW’s] leave a little pamphlet,
I had a visitor from the JW’s. I gave him the courtesy of time to explain how the CC was the Beast spoken of in revelation. I then gave him a few counter arguements. He was [to his credit] prepared to listen. I took his watchtower and gave him some Catholic Truth Society pamphlets. He promised to read and get back to me. We made our parting.

10-minutes later he came back, was very red faced. He had apparently received the biggest bollicking of his life from his elder who told him it was expressely forbidden to read any book not censored by the JW elders.

He wnet on to explain that any material not approved by the elders, is considered inspired by satan. That includes newspapers, popular magazines, sporting magazines etc etc and definitely anything catholic as evil and corrupt.

I found it ironic and small minded that I was expected to read his press but that he was forbidden to read mine. I understand that any JW who reads catholic material is a potential candidate for excommunication. That is far worse than our qualification of it. They are quite literally ‘cast out’ into the wilderness to await their fate of hell fire for all eternity

Well, technically not hell-fire because they don’t believe in that.

But wayward JW’s are cast out of the congregation - they call it “disfellowshipping.” Even family members are not allowed to speak to you - in public or private. The exception is if you live in the same household… which is nice. Can you imagine not being “allowed” to speak to your son or daughter? This can last anywhere from 6 months until… who knows? The procedure for getting “reinstated” involves meeting with your “elders” - expressing your remorse for whatever sin you did and asking for forgiveness. The elders decide whether you are forgiven or not. If they say “NO” - you aren’t forgiven yet… you remain disfellowshipped until more time has passed. Meanwhile, you are required to continue attending all the meetings, always sitting with the other disfellowshipped JW’s in the back row.

They are an odd bunch.

The same person who always comes is the one “reporting” you on her timesheet. The additional person is just someone who’s working with her “in service” since JW’s are never supposed to go door-door alone.

Eventally the conversations will get a bit more in depth. She will bump you up from a magazine or little pamphlet to a Watchtower book which she will offer as a “bible study.”

So long as you are nice to her & she’s allowed to talk, she will keep coming back. If she senses that you are commited to your Catholic faith she will take it VERY slowly. She’s no fool.

The good news is YOU have an opportunity to plant some seeds. Tell her how much Jesus means to you and how wonderful it is to celebrate the birth of your Savior. (JW’s believe that Christmas is all about materialism & paganism) Be enthusiastic about YOUR faith… if she’s standing at your door…you have a captive audience.

God Bless,
CM
hmmm… the lady who dropped of the end of false religion tract came to my door alone.likely to just drop it off. but she comes back with one other now.

actually, they do not believe in hellfire, so when one is “cast out” as a jw, they believe that person if they do not repent, (assuming they have not commited an
“apostate” act) they will cease to exist after armageddon. so there is no hell fire to them. just non existence. oblivion.
