JWs and education

This may only happen here in Alabama, but it is not uncommon for JWs to drop out of school and not graduate. Would anyone know the reason why?

As far as I know many JWs don’t like their children to go to school because they learn things. If JWs actually read the Bible they would know that they are wrong. However they want people to be uneducated so they fall into the snares of JW more easily.

The JW reason would be that since we’re currently in the end times (so close, in fact, that there are people alive now who will witness it), it doesn’t matter. Well that is the problem, isn’t it? The JW’s use the New World Translation of the Bible, which was concocted by their own team of six “professionals”. Of those six, only one could read ancient Hebrew or Greek, and even he only had a semester of it in college. The NWT Bible is famous for “rewriting” passages to say what they want. Most famous is John 1:1, which is rewritten to say “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was A god”! (But not THE God) This was done so that they can deny the Trinity and explain away Jesus as the bodily incarnation of St. Michael the Archangel!

They point that they try to make in downplaying charity is that since the world will be destroyed in just a few years anyway, ensuring that the people alive today survive the end times in the next life is far more important, given the extremely limited time and the number of souls to save. They believe that Jesus has already come back invisibly to begin the end times, in 1914.

I was raised that way!

Imagine this…your a young kid and your parents truly think the whole world will come to an end before you grow up. So they never encourage you to think about any career. Then you grow up thinking the end of the world must be comeing any day so you don’t think you will ever graduate middle school let alone go to highscool because you think God is going to destroy everything realy soon…guess how good I did in school…I did terribly, I had no reason to take school seriously.
That was Extremely damaging to me.

Not to menchon my NEGATIVE outlook on life. If a kid grows up thinking almost everyone he is around is gona be killed any day now in armagedon…everyone not a jw…which was basicly the whole school, that kid may grow up with a negative view of life.

But Im doing great now because of finding The Catholic Church.

I saw a study once about denomination/religious affiliation and poverty of its members. It was very interesting. I remember JWs being fairly low on the list, due to a lack of education.

Excaliber, I am glad that the Church has helped you in your life. It is wonderful to see more than just a spiritual effect.

Another point, and this could be better made in another forum but while I am here, I’ll put it in. I know that JWs won’t say the pledge. After speaking to several educators, I know that they will accept government aid such as lunch programs. I have no issue with lunch programs, mind you. In fact, since we are forcing kids to go to school, we should feed them. Anyway, does that seem like hypocracy? We won’t pledge allegance, but we want the free stuff.

I think the JWs were nearly quite right. The PromisedMessiah 1838-1908, had already come which is the Second Coming of Jesus, as I have explained in many of my posts.

Watchtower teaches its members that the flag salute is an act of worship…they litteraly think your WORSHIPING IT.

And even I knew it was wrong as a jw, to refuse to participate in anything governmental but to take all the fruits of the people who had worked hard in government offices. It is hypocrisy not to do any work but to take the same benefits of those that do.

And it is clearly WRONG to try to guess the end of the world. We know God will bring an end…but exactly when is not our buisness.

One thing I must add…is that one MAJOR MAJOR reason watchtower is successful even though they are clearly wrong from an outside perspective, is that they are prejudice against other religions. For example…the
idea that KNOWONE on the planet even reads there bible but Jehovahs witnesses is implied by watchtower. Etc…etc…
Basicly God won’t use or help other people outside of watchtower because they are so bad and sinfull…but God picked watchtower because its so pure and good.

I mean seriously when I was a jw, I thought people who were not jw’s were stupid…or blinded by the devil.
