I saw a cute Christian t-shirt that had a parody of the red cross logo. It said, “a blood donor saved my life”, in reference to Jesus shedding His blood at the cross. I considered getting one and wearing it around JWs. 😃
lol If u find one let me know, that way I can get one too!

lol That is so true!! My husband is a JW and I saw that statement in a book they are reading right now for their “book study”. It’s hard to have a conversation with these people because they are taught not to argue w/u, and if they don’t know the answer they say they’ll come back later with it… they don’t even know why they prohibit things but they obey…

My husband does it all the time w/me when I try to reason w/him.

Get this… aside from their no blood transfusion thing, they think that the UN is the government that will be destroyed in armaggedon because it consists of all governments. They say they try to fake they are looking for peace, but they are only deceiving us to fall for it…

Mmmm… sounds to me like the deceived ones are them by their falsetower brainwashing lies!
fuuny… that’s the pot calling the kettle a frying pan. ask your husband this, did he know that the watchtower organization had some dealings with the UN? hmm… they cut down the UN yet they have dealings with it? hypocrits. period.

globalpolicy.org/ngos/ngo-un/rest-un/2001/1030j.htm

lie and cover up after lie and cover up. oh we don’t support the UN, and oh we don’t ever have dealings with such an “evil” organization! hah! what a joke! makes you wonder what else they are covering up?

I don’t quite understand this reasoning. They are saying in this instance that the truth is not relative but in every other instance it is. Therefore they can change their teachings time and time again, except for this one???

I found several sites w/infrmation like the one Marilena posted.

Last night I asked my husband about the falsetower association w/the UN and he says he knows nothing an affiliation, then he asked me “what kind of affiliation?”, then he said he never heard this and that newspapers always publish false reports so it must not be true… WHAT???

Anyway, here are the ones I found…

jwinfoline.com/reference/un/fax_from_un.htm

watchtowernews.org/wt_unpressrelease.htm

jwinfoline.com/Documents/Watchtower_organization/why_was_wt_disassoc_from_un.htm

i don’t understand the wierd dynamics of the society. they twist everything beyond belief. they cannot deny their affiliation with the UN, and yet they have cut down the UN for decades. how silly is that? and how hypocritical is it? good grief!

Also they state that if one were to take blood, not only would they violate the laws of God, but they’d lose their chance for everlasting life. the Watchtower organization usesthis fear of losing everlasting life as a means to control their members.
They’re not the only organisation using fear as a means of control.

This will ring some bells: “Working out my salvation in fear and trembling”. This is a saying I’ve seen quoted time after time.

I’ve always said fear is a remarkable controller.

“If a doctor told you that you had to stop drinking alcohol, would you inject it into your veins instead?”
They are still comparing apples and oranges. I worked in a hospital lab for years and worked in blood bank. A transfusion is for a number of things but one of the most important is to deliver oxygen to the organs and cells of the body. The circulatory and digestive systems are two different things. Once blood is digested it would have been rendered usless for oxygen transport…FWIW…

agreed, it most certainly is.and it is a weapon the society uses time and time again when it comes to blood transfusions and their members. they use their fear of eternal damnation so that they do not take a transfusion. blood transfusions are not unscriptural, however, the society’s push of it is. their tacticts to me are unethical, and against Bible teachings. 2,000 years ago, there were no blood transfusions, and there were no organ transplants, and the society years ago stated that their members could not have an organ transplant, and lo and behold, presto changeo, now they can!

the reason as it has been assumed before, and is likely correct why they do not drop their stance on the blood issue is because they are afraid of legal retaliation, of thousands of wrongful death suits coming up, so they cannot change their position on it. even though they know it is unethical and unbiblical to state that their members cannot receive a transfusion.

they do not want to change it because if they did, the lawsuits would be endless. that would bring the society down believe me. do you know how many people have died without a transfusion? now imagine that if you would, and imagine the back lash of thousands of families filing wrongful death suits against the society, years in court and millions leaving the society.

1 million left in 1975 when they predicted the end of the world. now imagine how many more and guarentee it would be in the millions, who’d leave the society if they changed their stance on the blood issue? millions. it would send the society into bankruptcy. this is the reason why they will never admit their wrongdoing and their wilfull unbiblical stance on the blood issue.

i look forward to the day when they are forced to admit it. i hope someone catches them on tape admitting the lies. that would blow them right out of the water. they’d try desperately to coverit up.but ifit got out to the media it would be wonderful! imagine how many would go after them. it would be my pleasure to see potentially millions of people leave the organization, and to reclaim what the society has stolen from them. their lives, their salvation. Salvation can be restored to them, and so can their lives, but the society would never be able to recover from the truth
of the blood issue. never.

I had a JW friend once, and I was always amazed at how big of a conspiracy theorist he was. Everything was a conspiracy. Now I think it was because everything in the world cannot be trusted, to JW, except the WT.

Unfortunately Marilena, I have a feeling a large majority of people would think this too was a conspiracy, and not believe.

But at the same time, even if just a few people left, wouldn’t that be worth it?

Yesterday I went to the Kingdom Hall with my DH because I want to know what’s being fed onto his head, and let me tell you I came out SOOOOO angry and wanting to cry. They had their school and service meetings yesterday. On their Kingdom ministry hand out (I do not recall the name in English at the moment), they had 4 pages that spoke about the blood issue. I never knew these people refuse even to take medications that help w/coagulation of the blood or blood thinners!! How can this be?? How can these people be like this? How can they refuse life? God gave us this life and they are throwing it away!

I had the biggest argument with my DH when we got back home because I cannot believe he never told me this before we got married. I sure would’ve thought about it better. Plus, he still has his JW sister as the one who’d make any decisions for him if he couldn’t make them himself! We had spoken about putting me down as the one who would decide, but it’s been 8 months since we got married and he hasn’t! I only thought they refused blood transfusions and bone marrow transplants, but gosh! Medications? Dialysis? If I would’ve known that these people do this, I don’t think I would’ve married him!

I don’t get it, how they can let their lives slip away like that? The Bible doesn’t say anything about human blood. Plus, they are not eating/drinking it. Don’t they think that if God gave us life, preserving it comes w/the package? I feel these people are very selfish. Let’s just say one of them had Leukemia or some other serious blood disease, or heart disease, and this person was a man with a wife and children. Usually JW women don’t work so they can stay home and raise the children and do their pioneering. So, if something were to happen to this man, and refused treatment, he is leaving the wife and children w/o anything! Doesn’t it say in the Bible as well that a man is supposed to provide for his wife? The JWs even spoke about this on their book study last wk! How the man has to make sure he doesn’t forget that he has obligations to his family! What would happen to the wife and kids???

I said this to him and he said that the most important thing for them is to please God, and if it meant refusing that treatment, then his family wouldn’t matter!! How can someone do this???

Can any ex-JW explain how this works? I didn’t want to listen to my DH any more last night so I went to sleep to another room in the house. I need your help in order to understand this.

Thanks in advance!

*The June 15, 2000 Watchtower made subtle but important changes to official policy. These relate primarily to the way blood products are classified. As a result, Jehovah’s Witnesses now have the right to make a personal decision regarding the use of all blood fractions including the “mother of all fractions” hemoglobin. The single largest blood component after water. You can learn more by reading the article, “Watchtower Blood Policy Changes Again.”

Well, they made it very clear in their meeting though that it’s still wrong but that IT IS their personal decision. That they should do what wouldn’t disturb their conscience, but they reiterated and emphaized it over and over again that it’s wrong.

That’s my take on it (being in the same situation as you). I think all the allowance of “fractions” and saying that we told them “its a decision of conscience” is more a “cover” for the WTS because of past and possible legal actions around the world but they do make a not so subtle hint that allowance of any blood is still wrong.

That’s my exactly my point! I told my DH about how I think they only say it’s a decision of conscience to make them think they are the ones making the decision, but they are not!!! The WT only says it to try to make it seem like JWs were given the choice. How can it be their choice if they are told it’s still wrong?? I just wish my DH would’ve informed me of all the info that pertains to the blood issue before we got married. 😦

would it of made a difference?

would it of made a difference?
I think it would have. He hid all this from me, maybe he didn’t think of it as so important, but after I heard all this sitting at the Kingdom Hall, I felt betrayed. And after he said this matters to him more than his family, well, it sure makes a difference. How can someone say not receiving blood or its componets would be more important than your family?? Horrible & selfish!

Yep, I know when you first read all about the allowance of “fractions” and realize that that they mostly add up to everything needed anyway, it gives you hope. But when you find out firsthand that in the KH its still frowned upon, its very discouraging 😦
