The people that vehemently describe the JW’s as a cult do so from personal experience and personal harms and hurts.
that is partially true.but they are a cult, and that is a fact. iam not speaking from personally bad experiences as an ex jw either. one can examine the evidence of false prophecies, and thousands of people dying for the blood doctrine willfully. it is a cult there is no 2 ways about it to me. people are fanatical about this belief, and
they would willingly die for it,and the fact that they are coerced as well if they associate with a person who could potentially lead them out of the society, as well as the fact that they are to me, emotionally blackmailed that by taking blood, or by associating with “wrong doers” you will be damned for all eternity. that is clear evidence is it not that the watchtower organization is a cult.

they are heavily indoctrinated and that should be enough to say to ones self that it is indeed a cult, and a dangerous one.

you know what? this Christmas iam going to think of all the poor misled souls in the society who are dying inside and pray for each and every one of them that they find the joy that is Jesus Christ, and that they too can celebrate His birth, and celebrate
Easter as they want to do.

i will pray that they get back that part of themselves that has been taken from them. that perhaps when just 1 witness sees the lovely nativity scenes and hears the church bells, or sees carolers, that they stop and listen, and look and absorb the joy of Christmas.

i’ll pray that their heart is open and God walks right in and delivers them from the devil.

that is what i will pray for at Christmas time, and i’ll thank God with all my heart as i do, for Christmas, and for each and every witness out there who steps forward and reclaims their life!
Most excellent post wife! It is a good idea for us at Christmas and Easter to pray for those who are wanting out of the Society. Very good point! We can pray for all those at anytime of the year too:)

Yes, your quite correct:) thank you. 👍

Denial of the Trinity = cult
False Predictions= cult

Must I go on?:o

They deny they are a cult.

I deny I gained 10 lbs over the last 3 months from being a couch potato and an occasional extra beer here and there while downing fast food and other high calorie foods.

That does not mean I weigh the same as I did before the food fest.

Can anyone confirm that the JW leadership in Brooklyn is telling their people that Armeggadon is going to happen very soon, and that they should arm themselves? In other words are the Jehovahs’ Witnesses turning into a survivalist cult?

Some of the things I have been seeing in IRC and the lists tend to indicate this to me.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are pacifists, so most likely the IRC is unreliable.

Just incase nobody else mentioned it:

JWs have been announcing the end of the world for as long as thier organization has existed on this earth. They even set several dates for when this was supposed to happen!

I hate to say it, but they are a doomsday cult!

That is so beautiful Marilena! I will join you in that prayer this Christmas. I left behind so many JW friends whom I loved so much. It breaks my heart to think of them still caught up in all the lies.

same here. i left behind one lady friend whom i adored. i had many dreams of her leaving the organization, and i hope it happens.

Some reading this thread might wonder if the Church has ever officially prohibited the setting of dates for Christ’s return. This is from the Fifth Lateran Council, 1516 A.D. -

“They [preachers] are in no way to presume to preach or declare a fixed time for future evils, the coming of antichrist or the precise day of judgment; for Truth says, it is not for us to know times or seasons which the Father has fixed by his own authority. Let it be known that those who have hitherto dared to declare such things are liars, and that because of them not a little authority has been taken away from those who preach the truth.”

(Also, I would like to apologize for failing to capitalize “christ” in one instance in my post #69. It should be “Christ”!)

oh hey! almost forgot to tell you folks here!!! our priest was over for dinner last night, and when father came to the door, he saw Jeff Schewhm’s tract, “The End of False Prophecy is Here!”
he asked me if he could look at it, and i said, sure father! so he
took it, and he sat down at the table and read it, and he said, this is good, real good!

I told him, yes it is. iam delighted that father looked at the tract.
i also told father about Jeff’s site and that was a thumbs up as well.

he also looked at some other stuff i printed off for jw’s from Catholic sites, and he was happy about it, and glad i posted it on the door for them in a covered plastic envelope.

father also told me that at the priory, he doesn’t often get witnesses there. they don’t often stop by or leave material
behind. they know he is a priest. anyhow, i thought i would mention that father liked Jeff’s tract.

wait til i print more out!! i can’t wait to hand them out to jw’s!
looking forward to it!!😃
