Katie Holmes' Catholic plans for Suri

IIRC, it’s part of Catholic theology (I have no idea if it’s a dogma) that Catholics who leave the Church are still given the grace by God necessary to be able to return to the Church (perhaps that will help me out too).

During her sway into Tom Cruise and Scientology, her Catholic family and her friends were all concerned about her, it was reported. Maybe they are more hopeful now.

Yes, Tom Cruise was raised Catholic and even entered the seminary at one time.

He has simply rejected the Faith and traded it in for a cult.

When all is said and done Tom - you will not be able to hide behind your fame and money.

Maybe God does work in mysterious ways and eventually she will bring Tom into the Catholic Church?

Tom was raised catholic and wanted to become a Priest before becoming an actor.
I think thats great if Katie is finally coming to her sences. I’m not saying she needs to divorce Tom or anything, but she does need to get a back bone.

Maybe she secretly had Suri baptized w/o Tom’s knowledge. I know of someone who did this w/o her Muslim husband knowing they were baptized (he still doesn’t know). Then again this is all speculation based on a tabloid report.

In order to have a baby baptized validly, both parents must agree to the baptism with the vow to raise the child Catholic. I don’t think Tom is interested in that at all.
And not living in a sacramental marriage already is makes things difficult!

True story…a missionary priest baptized a baby in Africa whose father was Muslim. The mother kept the baptism from her spouse. When it was revealed, the father of the baby had the missionary shot and killed. This is a very sticky situation. I hope your friend realizes this.
Maybe we should get a subscription for Katie to Faith and Family Magazine…
