I am pretty sure my pastor will be transferred this summer. Meanwhile, I have devoted quite a bit of effort to letting him know me very deeply, which matters a lot to me in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Would it be inappropriate or in some way wrong of me to keep going to Confession to him even after he moves to another parish?

Its perfectly OK for you to keep him as your confessor, but ask him first.

St Teresa of Avila said, “when you find a good confessor, hang on to him for dear life.”

My confessor moved about three years ago and I miss him very much.

Haven’t found a priest near as good as he was.

Thank you so much, Jim! Do you happen to recall which book that quote was from? St. Teresa of Avila happens to be my patron saint, and I would love to quote that to him when I ask him 🙂

I never lived in the parish wherein my spiritual advisor serves, but have gone to him for almost a decade.

There is no issue.

Not sure, it may have been in The Way of Perfection.

Not inappropriate or wrong at all. Keep going to this priest.
