Ive been baptised for 3 weeks. For about 3 months Ive been working a great job where I work for a great Catholic boss. I work alone, and its great because I pray a lot while I work, and I get to minister to people. Great for preparing for baptism. But it is a short term job and will soon end. I have started a training program thats just to teach me one computer skill I really could teach myself, but it pays a small amt, and helps because the other job soon ends. The people in the training program are mostly drinkers and partiers, and not really taking the training seriously. Im feeling kind of guilty, like Ive done something, but I havent. Im being tempted, and not liking it. I feel like I should get out of that training class, but need a job to go to first. I guess just not sure how to handle being out in the world since baptism, and feel like I want to run from this place. I wish I could live at church.

Congrats on your baptism.
Don’t feel pressured. You’re not being tempted. 🙂
You’re being taught patience.

When God wants you to speak/act you will not be left in doubt or anxious about what to do.

Use any spare time to read Gods Word. (Hint - Ecclesiastes)

First of all, welcome home! :extrahappy:

Second, you can be a beacon of light in an area of darkness. Take Jesus with you to this training program. Jesus, remember, hung out with sinners!

If the people in this program ever become a near occasion of sin to you, you can always quit then. In the meantime, you can be an example that God makes you much happier than drinking and partying. I don’t mean you should shove your faith down their throats, but you can, as one saint put it, “Evangelize always. Use words if necessary.” Your quiet joy in being Catholic can speak volumes.

I highly suggest you find out if your parish or another local one has Eucharistic Adoration. Any time you have a problem, taking it before Jesus in the Most Holy Eucharist is a great first step in solving it.

Welcome home. You can use the training situations to be a witness & example of your faith.

Thanks for the thoughtful answers. Today I brought my rosary, and left it next to my computer while I worked. It helps me to keep it near, and it gets people asking honest questions. One man brought his pocket Bible to show me, and I was like, nice!!
