The guy who wanted to freeze the entire world was like something out of Saturday morning supervillain cartoons. I would have been happy just watching cute Rick Springfield have a romance with Bobbie the nurse, myself.

Luke and Laura? Of course they were popular supercouple.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I am literally crying from laughing so hard.

Things that need no translation:

(1) FUUMMMMMBLE!!!

(2) unintelligible BRADY!!!

(3) PHILADELPHIA!!!

(4) the fact that the emotion in each announcer’s voice was the SAME regardless of the native language.

Oh @Tis_Bearself, God bless you - I have had a rollercoaster day and you just made it for me. I needed that laugh!

And I just sent it to my diehard Patriots fan friend who is deployed in Doha, Qatar…he may never talk to me again. 🤣🤣

I wonder what space aliens think about this strange game humans engage in primarily in the United States.

People get so worked up over this funny game.

My British husband just rolls his eyes.

The real reason I started watching football was it gives you something to do when you’re deployed. 🤣🤣 I mean EVERYONE watches it. I sort of don’t care about it, but it’s grown on me. We had the day off when I was in Korea last year on Super Bowl Monday - we were 13 hours ahead of the East Coast there. (Your tax dollars at work, LOL.) There was a breakfast buffet at the officer’s club and we all watched the game. It is actually one of my favorite memories of my time there (even if the Patriots won and my friend was unbearable).

Yes, I agree with Hubby.

I think when the Rebel Alliance attacked the Death Star things were much more interesting and fast paced.

This is clearly the best thread I’ve ever read in the history of the Internets.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was referring to AMC’s historical firsts etc. & no I didn’t watch regularly until Summer of ‘03. It was Bianca Montgomery’s iconic revelation to Erica Kane that caught my attention in the press in 2000 but I was too busy at school to watch regularly at the time.

I believed they delayed her first kiss until April 23, 2003 with Lena. It was fascinating with the whirlwind of passionate supporters & furious opponents of LGBT storyline on AMC. It ushered the era of LGBT TV shows like The L Word & yes I have finished this HBO series.

Axsenex, I admit that I have a crush on a now-retired actress who had two stints as a regular cast member on AMC. Her first stint was back in the early '80s, when Greg and Jenny were the soap’s top supercouple. By 2003, my crush was already winding down her showbiz career. Her final scenes on AMC aired in early 2005. Kelly Ripa has thought highly of my crush as an actress.

We all have our crazy “things” we enjoy. I just always thought it was funny that my husband always says that (though he used to tease me because I watched “Neighbours” and “Brookside” with my MIL).
When my grandmother lived with us after she got sick, I learned that when she was watching a soap, I could always get an answer to, “which one is the good guy, and which was the bad guy” . . . I think one of them had a priest and a vampire . . .

My other grandmother told me that she used to listen to a couple on the radio. To show how far things have come: “The Guiding Light” was the minister in the town!

Dark Shadows! The vampire was Barnabas.

OK I guess I have watched a few soap operas in my day. LOL.

My mom talks about listening to soaps on the radio as well (she’s 84).

This would have been late 70s, maybe 80s, i think, in one of the “old line” soaps.

Wasn’t Dark shadows specifically supernatural? The one I tripped over (ok, and teased about), wasn’t; it was just kind of bolted on.

Hmm. Maybe it was another one. I know Dark Shadows ended in the early seventies but there were reruns on odd channels. I’m sure there were copycats in its wake.

My grandmother was a huge DS fan.
