To get a better grasp on this subject you ought to look up some information on ‘partythe systems’ and ‘partythe realignment.’ While The two main parties in the US have been called the Democrats and Republicans since the civil war, the beliefs of those two parties have changed drastically, swapped places, and traded geographic domination. So even though the names are the same, the parties of the civil war are not the same as those of Kennedy’s era or of the modern era.

The same is true in the UK. For example, the fall of the Whigs, the rise of Labour, etc. These represent the rise of new party systems.

While the Joseph P. Kennedy Foundation has funded a number of church-related projects around here, I’m not aware that since the death of Old Rose, much Kennedy money has found its way into Catholic charitable contributions.

Hi how we’re the Kennedys democrat if they where catholic ? Because they agree with abortion , same sex marriage , stem cells resarch etc , and the church doesn’t do what was going on would they be in the same party today ?

Both JFK and Teddy as married men, were SERIAL adulterors. As such that made them deceitful, & liers privately and as public servants… While Roe v Wade (1973) was long after JFK’s demise, Teddy was pro abortion also and pro same sex mariage. While these guys called themselves Catholic, they were lousy examples. I can’t speak to the rest of the clan. These sins are mortal. If one dies in these sins, the CCC is very clear on the consequences.

Someone above made a comment about Republican fiscal policies not being in line with Catholic belief.

I don’t know who that would be. JaMc and myself didn’t make a comment about that, and we are the only two people who posted above you.

With that being said, I will NOW say that I don’t think Republican fiscal policies are in line with Catholic belief. So that is BELOW Cat’s post. I also don’t think Democrat fiscal policies are in line with Catholic belief. I think it should be somewhere in the middle.
