I was reading in one of my Mary books, and this was the first time I’ve ever heard of this, that it is said that the Kidron Valley in Jerusalem, Israel, will be the site of the Last Judgment.
This to me seems a beautiful thought, yet I can’t imagine that this would be so. For one thing, Kidron Valley would be far too small to hold everyone who has ever lived, and will be living, as well as those who have died throughout the ages awaiting their glorified bodies, to fit all in one place. Unless God, or Jesus, will miraculously expand it?
Also, the Last Judgment is when “the dead shall rise from their graves.” I had always imagined, or assumed, that those of us who will be dead and lying in our graves will rise from the place in the cemeteries in which we were buried or interred.
I thought this was an interesting thing to read, and would be interested to know any thoughts on this.
I’m afraid of this “dreadful day”, and when I recite the “Apostles’ Creed” and say “…I look forward to the resurrection of the dead…” it’s a lie! I really don’t! I’m terrified of it!
