I liked the article.
It made me think why there is so much hesitation in the Catholic Left when we talk about Anglicans coming home.
They probably think “they’re too Catholic”.
Those Anglicans who do convert will have to be eased into the Church starting with the most traditional liturgies. The kind that Pope Benedict presides over.
I was watching his Mass on ash wed on EWTN and it was nice, gregorian chant etc. then I thought , "Does he realize that this doesnt go on in any Catholic Church i have ever been to.’
Why do I feel like Im watching some other , beautiful religion 's liturgy?

Well, I can understand the sentiment. I count myself blessed to be able to attend a reverent NO cathedral parish. The entire congregation meets at a public square a block away from the cathedral. The choir chants Hosanna to the Son of David, there are Gospel readings about Our Lord’s entrance into Jerusalem. The palms are blessed. And the choir leads the procession into the cathedral (with the cathedral bells tolling) singing All Glory Laud and Honor and when we enter the cathedral the brass quintet, tympani and organ are thundering along until everyone has found their seats and the bishop and priests process to the altar…and at the end of Mass the choir chants (Deo gratias!) Vexilla Regis!

Wow, I’m surprised this got moved to TC. It doesn’t mention anything about the Latin Mass (I don’t think Fr. Newman says one in his parish either). Only a “wretched” Catholic Mass and a reverent Anglican service, both in English. What exactly does “Traditional Catholicism” cover, anyway? Very odd.
