I was wondering if it is acceptable to kill certain people. People like child molesters, cerial rapest, abortion doctors, murderers, etc. I am not considering doing this, just so you know.

It is not acceptable in the US to do any of the above.

I suggest you seek legal counsel before posting again.

I am SOOOOOO DUMB. I honestly meant to say that I am NOT thinking about doing it. I guess I forgot the “not”. I guess i’ll edit that.

If you do executions at a prison. Or if you’re in the army killing enemy soldiers. Vigilante justice, however, has been outlawed in America and is probably not morally acceptable.

I know that it’s illegal. I was wondering what the Catholic opinion is.

No, not morally. The law exists for a reason. Let the law handle the child molesters, rapists and murders. If you have any information contact the police.

As for abortion doctors, unfortunately this is legal in the United States and Canada. If you live in either of these countries, the best thing to do is to pray for an end to abortion and take part in peaceful protests.

Pray for all these people.

One cannot simply go out, find these people and kill them. This is not charitable nor befitting a Christian.

That is pretty funny. I just think that gods law is higher than mans.

So, if the Church said vigilante justice was OK, you would say forget the law and go around killing people? Great defense in court.
I have a lot of faith in god. If he says he wants me to do something, I’ll do it. I really don’t care about a defense in court. I’m more interested in pleasing god and going to heaven.

A perhaps trivial point, but one I can not overlook. I at least capitalize the G in God. I know that is not any type of indicator of your zealous beliefs if you do not choose to do so. But, it would benefit your arguments if you could show the same basic respect for titles as us heathens do.

Pleasing your God can also mean to follow the laws.

Your thread title is “Killing for good?”

You must define good in order to get someone to respond.

Thank you for pointing that out. I guess that is pretty dumb that I capitalize “I”, but not “God”. I’ll start doing that from now on.

I should have posted the title as " can killing be justified in certain cercumstances?"

The CCC points out situations where it can be justifyed in certain circumstances.

Get a copy.
