I refrained from commenting on the “just war” issue, and the very unlikely event that someone would be considered so high risk that incarceration would not be enough to keep society from harm. These ideas come from the CCC, and that is fine and well, but they do not stand up to close examination unless we are catholic.Commandment numero cinco: Thou shalt not kill.
Of course, there are legitimate situations where one may have to kill another person: War (if it is a “just” war), Self-defense or defense of another person, or executions (only for inmates who endanger society even while imprisoned)
