Kind of Confused, need prayers

I’ve had a lot going on in my life lately. My grandpa is in poor health. My dad is semi-unemployed. I’m trying to discern my Vocation (the priesthood seems quite appealing). A priest invited me to the Archbishop’s vocations retreat on New Year’s day, and I feel uncomfortable about going. If I am called to marriage, I don’t know what kind of career I would be interested in, because it seems religion is my only talent and interest. Please pray for me that I may come to know God’s plan for my life.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Praying for you, Jack, that God’s will come into focus for you. God Bless you for being open to a possible call to the priesthood.

May God Bless you in your openness to His All Merciful Will. 👍

Praying too for your grandfather and father and their needs and well-being

Feeling untalented in any way but religion isn’t by itself an indication of a vocation for priesthood, and you seem ambivalent, reluctant, to go to the discernment retreat. Perhaps your self-esteem and your assessment of your possible talents needs our prayers too, Jack. In whatever vocation we follow, we need a solid basis of faith, love of God, love of others, as you would know.
(My former parish priest went on a vocation discernment camp only because he wanted to go on a camp…and to his surprise, he found he did in fact have a vocation to the priesthood.)

I ask the Lord to guide you to go to a wise counselor to attentively help you to resolve your questions and to help you towards the vocation/employment that will most suit your personality and needs.
 
Praying that you attend the Archbishop’s vocations retreat so you can better discern your vocation. May you also meet with your diocesan vocations director to further discern your vocation. Praying that you spend lots of time in prayer so the Holy Spirit can illuminate your mind and fill your heart with holy zeal and help you better discern what God is asking of you. Amen.
