I don’t know. I am in the state of grace, and try to go to confession at least every 4-8 weeks (I’d go everyday, but I always need someone to take me.) But, I still get freaked out about dieing. I mean, faceing Christ, with all my sins, even venial. I mean, those “little” vices that you can never shake off, adn it annoys the heck out of me. I’m really good at beating myself up btw lol.

Does anyone else exeperience this?

This is called scrupulosity. Check it out here: newadvent.org/cathen/13640a.htm

Martin Luther was known for this.

Trust when you are forgiven.

Martin

Venial sins when you are sorry for them are forgiven outside of confession by an Act of Contrition, receiving communion, Performing Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy, etc. It does help one in ones struggle with these imperfections to confess them, but it is not necessary to have them forgiven in that way. You might ask your confessor about this.

Yes, I’d say explain the propblem to your confessor so he can help you.

As someone else posted, it does sound like you may suffer from scrupulosity, and it would be good for you to get help with that. In addition, I would highly recommend you find out about the Divine Mercy devotion (the Feast of Divine Mercy is coming up the Sunday after Easter) and practice it. I came out of Calvinism, which gave me a pretty warped view of God’s mercy, and this devotion has been tremendously healing to me by helping me see just how great God’s mercy is towards all of us. The greater your confidence in God, the less your worry will be about your sins.

The Marians of the Immaculate Conception have been the main promoters of this devotion in this country, so you might want to check out their website:
