What’s the best Kindle version of The DR or RSE-CE offerrered by Amazon.
There are a number of searchable versions it gets confusing
Also there is a read the Bible in one year version
Wouldn’t mind and original DR

The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible - new Testament. It’s new testament only but is RSV-CE. The commentary is awesome & has the Bible text as well.

Great for the kindle - I use it on my kindle and read it everyday.

Also, NABRE - 2011 is great for the Kindle as well; especially for American English citizens in which the translation was geared towards.

👍

second this, also the The Ignatius Bible RSV-CE.amazon.com/The-Ignatius-Bible-ebook/dp/B002LDM8UO/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1348078564&sr=1-1&keywords=catholic+bible+rsv and the DR amazon.com/Douay-Rheims-Bible-chapter-navigation-ebook/dp/B001A82B5I/ref=sr_1_13?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1348078154&sr=1-13&keywords=douay-rheims+catholic+bible i bought this one because its book and chapter navigation is better,i you go for the .99 specials the search capabilities are nil to non-existent.the DR does have the haydok commentary in the text so one might be  at times but its the only one formatted for kindle that i can find that one doesn’t have to read it straight thru to find the chapter and verse.

I’m very hesitant to buy any non fiction books for the same reasons. With fiction it doesn’t matter, you pick up and carry on reading where you left off.
With a Bible you want to be able to search by book, chapter and verse etc.
You would have to pay for a good version with searchable contents etc. Check the reviews before you buy, just because its the translation you want it may be next to unusable if the table of content or index isn’t up to much:shrug:

Best?

Get all of them!

I have The Ignatius Bible, NAB, Catholic English-Latin Diglot, and Tanakh all on Kindle.

I always like Billy Graham’s answer when he was asked, “What is the best verision of the Bible?” His answer was, “The one I am reading at the time!”

This is off topic but I would like to know. Is it likely that the Catechism of the Catholic Church will be put on Kindle ?

What’s the navigation features like on those editions?

Really they just have a table of contents. You go to that, scroll down to your Book/Chapter/or Commentary and go from there. Scrolling to an exact page is more difficult. It’s harder than a real book but significantly more mobile.

I use my Kindle daily at work due to it’s mobility.

I believe this one:

amazon.com/Bible-American-Revised-Edition-ebook/dp/B006298622/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

has really nice navigation/search if you have a true kindle with a keyboard. On my kindle app, I don’t believe I can use those features.

I ended up getting this one:

amazon.com/American-Bible-Revised-Edition-ebook/dp/B0054SLCOQ/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_t

Only thing I don’t like is that while there are hyperlinks to the notes, there are no hyperlinks back so you need to pull up the menu and go back that way. Also, in this one, the notes are at the end of each chapter just like the printed book. I actually like that, but some folks don’t.

Thanks for the link April but Amazon doesn’t allow me to purchase it because I live in Australia.
