there is one thing both you and the OP overlooked. Mary remain obedient to God’s will, and Jesus is a King. His example show complete obedience to the Father and his will. Together they perfected the Davidic Kingdom.

Mary gave us the Word who became flesh, and Jesus become like us, suffered, died, and was resurrected. He destroyed sin, and thereby redeemed us.

Jesus inherited the Kingdom of David, and appointed Mary as his Queen Mother, in the light of the Davidic monarchy.

Many of the OT Kings and Queens were not good role models, some where. They were still imperfect. Wheere else, Jesus and Mary are perfect.
 
Daniel, I for the life of me did not understand what point you were making. Can you summarize?

There are also many other things that Jesus did, but if these were to be described individually, I do not think the whole world would contain the books that would be written.

I’m not brainwashed. I intrepret the Scripture in the light of the teaching of the Church, which Jesus Christ established.

“HE WHO HEARS YOU,HEARS ME”, - Luke 10:16

Unless you claim the Bible is the Pillar and Bulwark of the Truth, then I’ll go with the Scripture Alone. But we know in 1 Tim 3:15 it is the House of God, which is the Church, that is the Pillar and Bulwark of Truth.

Second, just to keep this topic in line with the thread, I understand the Davidic Kingdom is the Kingdom inherit by Jesus from his father David.

Tell me, is not King David, the King?

Most hard core Protestants in these threads lack any understanding of the Jewish tradition in the belief that a Jewish King had mothers as their Queen. You can cite and refer to the following OT passages;

1 Kings 2:17, 20
1 Kings 2:18
1 Kings 2:19
1 Kings 15:13
2 Chron. 22:10
Neh. 2:6

Tell me who are the Queen of these passages? Second, did you read Luke Chapter 1 verse 32-33.

He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end."

Jesus fulfilled the Law of the Prophets and he did not abandon this Jewish Kingdom. I understand the Jewishness of Jesus’ kingdom. Many Protestants like you don’t see that the Old Testament foreshadow the New Testament, and the New Testament reveal the Old Testament. If you read the Bible and its prophecies concerning Jesus, the belief that Mary is the Queen of Heaven is very Jewish. Jesus is also Jewish. The parallel are uncanny.

Correct!

Jesus is the Word of God! The Word of God existed before there was language, before there was even an earth. The Word of God manifested itself it became a man. The Word of God spoke and taught mankind here on earth. It was His teachings that gave birth to Sacred Scripture not vice versa. Without scripture the Church continues. Without Christ we are nothing.

If you draw nothing else from this thread walk away from here knowing who not what the Word of God is.

I don’t know if anyone noticed, but doesn’t the Protestant idea of Kingdom of Heaven seen less Jewish than the Catholic belief?

When you think about it? In the OT, Jewish Kings have Queen as their mothers. In the NT, We Catholics see the Woman Clothed with the Sun as the real Queen of Heaven, Mary, and her son, the male child is the King, who is Jesus.

Tell me. In your opinion, which Christianity is more Jewish? The Catholic or the Protestant?

It seems to me that its Catholic sounds more Jewish because we claim Jesus inherited the Kingdom of his father David.

The Protestants identify the Queen of Heaven of Catholics, as the one in Jeriamiah.
 
I agree with you Manny, but really that makes sense. Our origins are with the Apostles who were themselves Jewish. Protestant Jewish connection is built more upon end times prophesy, nation of Isreal rebuilding of the temple etc.

Also some Protestant denominations don’t hold the OT in very high regard (not all Protestants, before anyone flips out).

Also, your interpretation of who the Queen was is erroneous. Solomon’s might have been his mother (although I don’t think so), but the norm in the Middle East is that the favored wife of the king is the Queen Consort. The same system is used in any polygamist society–also in Asian societies, which, though technically monogamous, allowed concubines to the rulers.

I’ve never heard Christ called the King of Heaven; that title belongs to God considered as a Triune entity, not merely Second Person of the Trinity.

In relation to that trinity, Mary is the daughter of the Father, the mother of the Son, and the bride of the Holy Spirit. Now does it make a bit more sense? She is Queen of Heaven as the wife of the Third Person, not the Second.

On my crucifix I have a sign that has the Latin letters “INRI” which stands for Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudeorum which roughly translated, means Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. Who, other than God Himself, is King of the Jews?
