Rightlydivide:
More like of 1300 years of supressed Christian truth.
So when Jesus said that he would not leave us orphans – or ‘comfortless’ as some of you insist – he

either did not include anyone who lived before the Reformation;

or He included those who subscribed to ghosticism for 1300 years – gnosticism being a heresy – and therefore also didn’t mean that the Gospel was for all of humanity but only for a select secret society with secret ‘knowledge.’

Um… this supposition is imho breathtakingly illogical.

:yup:

I am not following you. Could you explain?
**With respects to “I do know that if God does not put the hunger for learning the truth in you, you are not one of his ‘little ones’.”. – In the contents of the OP that there are those so called christians that believe that the King James Bible is good enough for them, IF they are corrected in their ignorance and don’t repent, then they are false teachers. False teachers cause baby believers, who are weak in their faith, to stumble and be suduced by the doctrine of the devil.

Mt 10:42 -
“And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.”

Mt 18:6 -
but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

Mt 18:10 -
"See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven.

Mt 18:14 -
"So it is not {the} will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.

Mr 9:42 -
"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe to stumble, it would be better for him if, with a heavy millstone hung around his neck, he had been cast into the sea.

Lu 17:2 -
"It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.

I am on topic…the KJV lacks 7 books and parts of others that were canonized by the church many centuries before 1611.

This is a fundamental and historical fact, as is the fact that copies of the actual 1611 edition of the King James Bible had all 73 books in it and they were not edited out by the translators but by some Bible Society in the 1800s.

I have this KJV. It has all the books. amazon.com/KJV-Bible-1611-Genuine-Leather/dp/1565631625/ref=ed_oe_o/102-4867031-0378569?ie=UTF8&qid=1175816432&sr=1-1

Was the Gospel not intended for all?
The ‘all’ that you supose means every man-woman-child that ever lived is not the ‘all’ of the Bible. It is the devil doctrine that says you do not have to take up your cross and die daily (see Luke 9:23)
Those who choose Jesus are the little ones? Those who do not choose Him are not the little ones?
**Mt 4:19 -
And (Jesus) said to (Peter and Andrew), “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

That was a commandment. Peter and Andrew did not choose to follow Jesus by their own freewill.
**
Or are you suggesting the God predestined those whom He would save?
**I had authored a lengthy and contested thread on Predestination in the past – entitled ‘Predestination is True’.

In the spirit of staying on topic, I’ll let you search the forum to find the thread.

How so? More to the point: who says so? And by what authority?

The devil doctrine? Lost me there. Lost me there because it is a total nonsequitur. In no way does the second statement necessarily follow from the first.

And surely you are not claiming that Catholics do not take up our crosses and die daily? Are you aware that anti-Catholicism is the last acceptable prejudice?

All righty then… :whacky: Perhaps this might be helpful: A commandment is a moral imperative but does not abrogate free will. We always have free will as long as we have the faculties of reason and observation.

And your point about Magisterial teaching is what exactly?

Ah gee thanks. I must say I am somewhat at sea by this form of ‘generosity.’

To make a long story short: since you raised the reference it is only courtesy for you to post the link.

I will not respond to any further of your posts until you stop posting them in bold blue. It is just too assaultive on the eye.
Regretfully, this correspondence is over before it really got started.

The King James Bible was also written because King James didn’t like the Geneva Bible.
