So, I rented the movie Kingsman from iTunes and watched it last night. For those of you who may have decided to wait until it’s rentable, don’t waste your time. The movie has terrific action sequences, but the violence is gratuitous, and there is a scene at the end that can be described as nothing less than vulgar.

My rating: morally offensive (O)

Well, use your own judgment everybody, but haven’t you ever watched James Bond???

Sure I have. But there is no way that James Bond movies would be as gratuitous as Kingsman, which was gory and vulgar.

Most people (if any) would describe James Bond movies as gory and vulgar.

I love many James Bond movies.

A pity, when I first saw the trailers I was hoping for a good old spy flick like the old Bonds or Get Smart. But after reading a few reviews I was really turned off and decided to wait until the DVD came out. Thanks for the heads up.

Kingsman was great! Had a mild and more humorous Quentin Tarantino feel to it.

Not for people with fragile sensibilities.

My rating 7/10 or 2.8/4 good movie bring popcorn 🍿.

We went to see it on one of our rare date nights, thinking it was a spoof on spy films. It was mildly entertaining until the church scene, where it exploded in matrix-like violence that went on forever. It continued to spiral downward for the rest of the film, until another spectacularly violent scene at the end, and the OP’s extremely vulgar…dare I say pornographic…closing scene. It was awful.

I found it very entertaining. Yes it has violence, though I didn’t find it gratuitous.

The last scene was laughable, almost anti-violence.

I remember watching Kingsman and liking it but feeling bad about it. In particular, I didn’t like the church scene. They make it clear that it’s a hate church, but of the many people who probably that scene, how many people would have been equally pleased if it happened in a Catholic church or Evangelical church?
