I watched Kirk Cameron’s documentary “Monumental” last night. God bless Kirk Cameron!
He is a good God fearing man. However, this documentary is dumb. It is a short history of the founding of America back to the Puritans in England. It is an attempt to show that this country was founded by Christians on Christian principles. A non denominational Protestant version of English Puritan history w/out mentioning *Catholic Church * gets confusing. An attempt to avoid revealing anti Catholic sentiments, maybe. It was long on emotions and short on historical evidence. Some of the “facts” presented are questionable.
Therefore, I am now looking to read a simple history of the Puritans. Any recommendations?
