The “original” posture was standing but the USA Catholic Church was granted a dispensation to kneel at some point (circa 1940’s I think, but exactly when is immaterial) for the purpose of uniting in a posture that gives a greater degree of REVERENCE to our Lord truly present. Then, some “bright” people decided that going “back to the original” was “better”, and though their thinking was totally wrong and misguided, because they have no idea what the true “original” posture was, (what did Mary do???), they have substituted a posture of less reverence. BUT! We do know one thing that Mary (and Jesus) would want us to do, and that is OBEY the people they have appointed to take Their place, because obedience is always better than anything else, and those who stand in obedience will be rendering greater reverence than those kneeling in disobedience. You can never improve on obedience regardless of your intentions. (Such as saying you can disobey Civil laws because you think you know a “better” way)
