Kneeling during Eucharistic prayer

My church does not kneel during the Eucharistic Prayer but I want to kneel out of respect and to be more prayerful during that time. Is it disrespectful for me to kneel? And what insight can anyone give me on why some churches do and some don’t?
 
I feel like you do! but our priest told us our bishop had voted to stand so in our diocese, we stand… don’t know why? I thought about writing letters to protest…
 
Posture during the Eucharistic prayer varies from place to place. In the UK the ‘norm’ is to kneel after the Sanctus and Benedictus until after the Amen which concludes the Eucharistic prayer. In some parts of Spain the people kneel only for the words of consecration. In Italy people often seem to do what they feel is best for them (some are kneeling throughout, some standing). If you wish to kneel there’s no reason you can’t; no one is going to throw you out for it! 🙂
 
It depends upon the diocese, as said up-thread.

If you want to, do it. If your pastor tells you to stand, obey him- Jesus knows your heart.
 
Yes, our new priest took the time to inform us as to why it was proper for us to stand and since I was unaware of any rule for our diocese… I thought I should follow the rule and Jesus knows! Still I wonder WHY at those special words… we would stand instead of kneel if at all possible. I know the aging population has trouble with physical kneeling… but if at all possible…
