Kneeling During Face-to-Face Confession

I would like to make a face-to-face confession while kneeling directly in front of my priest. Is this appropriate? How should I approach this request?

I suppose you could just ask him (assuming there is enough space on the floor for you to kneel). I wonder whether it would feel a little awkward for him? (if he is not accustomed to having someone kneel in front of him)

Of course, this assumes that your priest allows face-to-face confession. The option for anonymous confession is required; a priest does not have to do face-to-face confessions if he chooses not to.

I would just ask him. “I’d prefer to kneel, is that ok with you?” If he objects – and I can’t imagine why he would – then he’ll tell you.
