oh…I didn’t say that. Either approved posture is fine by me.I agree that we should kneel.

I don’t think there is one… hence my suggestion that the admission be made:So is there a good reason for standing?..
I have heard good reasons not to and the reasons given to stand so far have been to reject the Real Presence of Christ or human pride.
Can anyone give a good Catholic reason?
Please give me a bit of faith in the state of the Church, it really can’t be that bad could it?

You make a good point which is disheartening to me, as if that is the reason people stand it illustrates the denial of the Presence of God, if we treat Him like just an important human.I can’t give a good Catechism-based answer, but this is what my dad (a retired Navy sailor) told me:
“When the captain or admiral comes on deck, everyone stands up and salutes. It’s respect and it’s admission that that man is higher ranked than you. So when God comes to be with us at Mass, we who salute a mere human should get on our knees.”
I won’t shove that down anyone’s throats, but that’s the way I’ve been raised.
So I am bumping this, to see if there is any good reason.
Is the word “Catechesis” put in that sentence as a joke or to drive home a point that there is no real Catholic teaching that makes standing better than kneeling? I am beginning to suspect whomever put that word in there did it on purpose to make that point.
Any thoughts,
