Kneeling when receiving the blood of Christ

Should we kneel when we receive the blood of Christ in the way that we also kneel in receiving the body of Christ?
 
If you’ve ever tried to minister the Cup to a kneeling person, I think you’d find that there’s a significant risk of spillage- standing person to a kneeling person.

Please remember you receive the body AND blood, soul and divinity of Christ in both species. You are not just receiving the body in the Host and you are not just receiving the blood from the chalice.
 
Bowing your head is the approved method. Any thing that brings attention to your self us not recommend by the church. Robert Barron on the Mass and the teaches on this and what is appropriate church teaching

Major spill factor!

You should talk to your priest and see if you could do it Tridentine style: people kneel at the altar rail as the priest and deacon walk down the line administering the Body and Blood
 
That’s a major risk of spilling. I’d say just kneel for the host and then return to your pew.
 
Would it be ok/make sense to receive the cup standing while knelling for communion?

Indeed. I am terrified every time I see someone kneel to receive Communion from the chalice. I don’t think the chalice was ever meant to be received kneeling.
 
If a person wants to receive the Blood of Christ kneeling, they should be down on their knees before they touch the chalice and give it back before they get up on their feet! It is a very simple practice to follow and should be common sense.
 
I’m a bit perplexed by the folks saying it’s way too easy to spill.

In my 20+ years of attending Anglican churches it has never seemed to be an issue.
 
We should kneel before receiving the body and the blood of Christ. That is my feeling.

Good call, thank you. I have kneeled for the host but not while receiving the cup.
 
I think it could only realistically work if receiving communion in both species by intinction (and not self-intinction).

Usually you can go to your diocese website and search for directives in communion reception. You also can ask your priest, or your bishop personally.

Does the communicant take the chalice? That would reduce the risk greatly instead of trying to pour down the mouth of someone on their knees. I have this recollection that the EMHC usually holds it and pours, which I have to say wouldn’t make much sense if communion in the hand is a thing.
 
I have seen people kneel for the Blood o Christ and as long as the person’s hands are steady then there is no danger of spillage.
