Praise the Lord!

I’m sure the K of C chapters across the USA are very happy, as well they should be.

I wonder how they will handle the beatification Mass in view of COVID. I don’t plan on going because I suspect many K of C will want to attend and I presume space will be quite limited.

wow.

I hadn’t heard this!

hmm, and nothing in my email, either.

I just noticed they are also going to canonize Blessed Charles de Foucauld and beatify Ven. Pauline Marie Jaricot who founded the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. Exciting!

This is happy news indeed! I have long been drawn to the life of Blessed Charles de Foucauld, and only recently studied more in depth the life of Fr. Michael McGivney (although I have long been aware of the Knights of Columbus - my grandfather was a Knight).

I am thinking now of the very different ways that Fr. Michael McGivney and Charles de Foucauld went about evangelizing. One gathered Catholic men together in mutual support and solidarity, while the other lived a mostly solitary life among Muslims, his witness primarily being the kind and simple way he lived. Yet both ways are acceptable in our Church, which I believe is one of our strengths.
