Worried about charities that provide abortions and contraceptives for example. Know the Church’s teaching on this if there is any?

There are a gazillion Catholic non-profits. Are you seeking one that’s non-Catholic but Catholic-friendly? So far as I know, Habitat for Humanity is pretty non-controversial.

Aid to the Church in Need
Food for the Poor
Cross Catholic (outreach?).org

Is food for the poor Catholic friendly? Like they’re not going to give the parents condoms or birth control?

There are a ton of smaller organizations that make great use of every dollar. Surely our religious brothers and sister make good use of the money, like Franciscans of Life in Miami, Florida, who many here know. My own favorite smaller charity is the Missionary Society of St. Paul in Abuja, Nigeria, the organization to which a dear friend of mine works. The also have a mission in Houston.

Oh, I guess I should mention Catholic Answers, for apologetic ministry. Kinda seems right.

Yes, you can always just donate to some religious order that is doing good work in your local neighborhood.
I just found out about a group of sisters who are working to help the poor in Philadelphia for example.
Pretty safe bet that the sisters aren’t handing out birth control.

Peters Pence
Catholic Relief Services
Your Local St Vincent De Paul
Your locl prolife ministry

Outside the USA I donate occasionally to Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA). You have to be careful with some of these foreign relief services who may not be fully inline with the teachings of Jesus as passed on to His Church, even ones that have Catholic or Christian in the title. I like CNEWA because I can p(name removed by moderator)oint what area the money goes to and for what. That’s still not a guarantee but doing a little research you can find out who might have some issues and I have not seen any trouble with CNEWA.

Locally I donate to various Catholic organizations like St. Vincent de Paul, Pro Life groups and religous orders.

Just saying, CRS seems to give the impression that they are emergency / food relief but they also seem to do a lot for political / legal causes that people may not always agree with. fWIW

Here are a few neutral/Catholic charities that have received a positive deal from BBB that might be worth looking into

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Ducks Unlimited
Easterseals
Feeding America
JDRF International

It really depends on what you want to donate to and for what. What’s your passion. Children, cancers, diseases, literacy, hunger, medical, animals, environmental, foreign groups, minorities, veterans, etc.
