Look at the logic here. The claim is that this happens on a regular, predictable basis and manner, if there was even a shred of truth to it happening spontaneously, a video would have been taken during the process and the infant would be closely monitored in a controlled environment.

If it was indeed proven to be as originally claimed during those tests and observations, you are left to ponder as to the nature of it arriving in this manner on an infant. We as Christians abhor what the Koran stands for, it is against so much that we believe in too many areas, literally to demonic states of teachings, so even if it does appear, it certainly is NOT from God and in no way will the Koran ever hold the same weight and validity as the Bible, which is what this propaganda regardless of origin is attempting to direct our focus upon.

My 2 cents on this:

Turn the story around.

A small baby/toddler of a Catholic family reported this phenomenon on their baby’s skin as "reported… " in the Russian tabloid… and if this story hit the major news papers ( which so far it’s only on nonsense tabloids ),… have no doubt muslim members that the Vatican and the Church officials would be all over it for confirmation of true or hoax.

And let’s assume for one moment the baby was NOT a Catholic but another Christian.

I am certain that their church officials would investigate this from the top to the bottom for confirmation.

I searched the baby’s name on yahoo and got 14 hits. They are all tabloid papers.

I then did a search on google with the same name. Got more hits and they are all foreign web sites, some rubbish blogs and tabloids.

No miracle here!

Sheesh…I’m a foreigner and even I know that “Russia Today” is mostly nonsense! Even then, if you follow the link that B_M posted to the tidbit from RT, you’ll find the following opening paragraph:

“A miracle or a simple hoax? Parents of a nine-month-old child claim their son has been marked by God,** while doctors say the extracts from the Koran on his skin have nothing to do with divine intervention.**” (emphasis mine)

It seems a littttttttle bit too convenient that this happens in Dagestan and not, say, Karelia or some other place without so many Muslims. Granted, Muslims will see this as a “sign from Allah”, but they also see signs from Allah in pieces of fruit, fish scales, and trees, so they’re either lacking in qualified opthalmologists or common sense. Take your pick.

This really reminds me of the propensity among some Mexican Catholics (not any that I know, thankfully!) to see Jesus or Mary in everything: tortillas, pieces of toast, clouds, flowers, etc. Frankly, it’s embarrassing for everybody.

Dear Muslim Sister,

I think its wise that us Muslims not play into events such as these. The Prophet (pbuh) tells us superstitions are for the ignorant. I was disappointed when I read the media stating that it was actually Muslims stating this event is GOD’s message, speaking on His behalf that this is from Him? astughfurullah (May God have mercy) Since when do Muslims dare to speak for God?

Although only God knows, these sorts of phenomenons occur in all religions and if there is one common demoninator in these events it is usually the work of 1. a hoax or 2. Infamous Jin (para-dimensional beings).

I hope you dont advertise these events more than you advertise what God(swt) actually said - through His revelations and Messengers.

In the final revelation The Most High, repeatedly tells us to use our intellect and reason to know Him more, and His miracles are through the creation of life and the universe itself.

So once more sister (since I cared enough to write to you). We have the Qur’an as the final and perfect word of The Creator, so I encourage you (and other religions with their revelations) to quote God and his prophets instead of displaying these ambiguous “signs”. Securing ones faith on these is uneccessary when there is so much solid evidence out there of Truth.

Regards and Salam 🙂

I always take events like this, even if it is Christian-centered, with a grain of salt. How many “Ooh this stain on the wall looks like the Virgin Mary!” incidents have we had, for crying out loud?

The thing is, they are looking for God’s presence actively, we should do the same as well. The dynamic going on here, it’s clearly showing devotion in a high degree to take things to these lengths and even though we could write this stuff off as trivial, I commend their enthusasim.

I don’t. I actually remember one such case that really was as BW describes it: An oil stain on a freeway (I seem to remember it being in southern California somewhere, but can’t remember the details right now) that was said to look like the Holy Mother of God, to which pilgrims flocked and prayed. What is commendable about flocking to an oil stain? Sure, it shows a certain kind of devotion to Our Lady, but I don’t think it’s healthy or to be emulated in any way. You have icons and statuary. Pray using those. How many people died during the periods of Iconoclasm in the East to defend the use of icons? They sure as hell didn’t die so you could pray to an oil spot or a piece of toast. That’s all nonsense.

More seriously, in this case: The boy experiences physical pain and fever and the parents, instead of focusing on the seriousness of that situation, are using their child like a ouija board from Allah? Great parenting there. Really, stellar job. I don’t imagine Child Protective Services in Dagestan is in the best of shape, if there even is an analogous agency, or else this would be treated very differently.

Thanks for the opportunity prodigalson,

AND SO we propound these parables unto mankind: but none can grasp their inner most meaning save those who are aware (Qur’an 29:43)

ARE THEN those bent on denying the truth not aware that the heavens and the earth were once one single entity which We then parted asunder? – and [that] We made from water every living thing? Will they not then [begin to] believe? (21:30)

AND IT IS We who have built the universe, and it is We who are steadily expanding it (51:47)

But none will grasp the message except those who use their reason (Quran 2:269)

…there’s so much you deserve to know about Islam 🙂 This isnt a Muslim forum though so I dont want to undermine its purpose. But if you care to hear the reason for my intellectual and heart felt conviction in my faith I will do my best. The best thing I think though is to read the Qur’an (for English Speakers – Mohammad Asad’s translation is my highest recommendation, he was an Austrian Jew who dedicated his life to this).

At the end of 30 years of peice by peice revelations, I find it unreasonable to conceive that man can produce a text that, as a whole is consistent to such a degree. Whether it be mathematical, linguistically concise in its grammar and phrasing or its containment of natural truths about life, scientific accounts and historical detail to a level not at all conceivable to anyone 1400 years ago. It is quite fascinating to research (or just to read).

I’ll leave you to it for now, but one pretty fun example of Math is the following: the number of times words are mentioned in the Qur’an regarding significant opposites (keep in mind, these words are scattered throughout the Qur’an, revealed in segments over 30 years and God specifically mentions that they are opposites or equal).

24 - Al Rajul (Man)
24 - Al Mar’a (Woman)
115 - Al Dunia (This Life)
115 - Al Akhirat (The Hereafter)
88 - Al Malaika (The Angels)
88 - Al Shayteen (The Satans)
145 - Life
145 - Death
11 - Iblis (Lucifer – The leader of satans)
11 - Seek refuge from Iblis

Interestingly:
5 - Salat (Prayer) (Muslims pray 5 times a day)
12 - Al-Shahr (Month)
365 - Al-Yawm (Day)

I hope I showed you a pleasant snippet of the the final revelation I have come to love so much 🙂 You also asked about the Prophethood of Mohammad (pbuh). I will gladly open this subject up for you after I attend to my personal duties (husband, work, cats etc haha).

My Regards

AND THUS have We bestowed from on high this divine writ as a discourse in the Arabic tongue, and have given therein many facets to all manner of warnings, so that men might remain conscious of Us, or that it give rise to a new awareness in them. Know, then that God is sublimely exalted, the Ultimate Sovereign, the Ultimate Truth: and knowing this, do not approach the Qur’an in haste, ere it has been revealed unto thee in full, but always say: “O my Sustainer, cause me to grow in knowledge!” (Qur’an 20:113-114)

Lara_1,

what is your source for these numbers?.. and can you check these numbers yourself… I did not get the same results.

Interesting indeed, here is the YouTube for that, however, I’ve noticed that there are two verses from Quran which are:

(Quran 2:283):
“He who hideth it, verily his heart is sinful”
ومن يكتمها فإنه آثم قلبه

(Quran 13:16) & (Quran 39:62):
“Allah is the creator of all things”
الله خالق كل شيء

Now is that miracle or a hoax, I think only doctors can tell us that, because I think it would bring some people to Islam if it’s true and push them away if it was a hoax.

I beleive if you look up the words exactly as listed you will confirm this. These are all researched findings by Dr. Tariq Al Suwaidan he is a renowned Islamic scholar (written over best selling 30 books), the CEO and owner of Gulf Innovation Group and general manager of the famous Al resalah satellite channel. 😉 busy guy

Lara_1, the Koran, how ever you spell it is a miserable book of lies that have included some of the torah within it’s texts, the same torah that you kill the originators to this day for simply breathing air…

Unless the Muslim scene contains itself, it will always remain a vile, obscene obscurity of religious cult sect that this world is better off not having around… prove to me any different with this statement now…

Lots, which God permits for our education about true and false miracles.

Ok , I now see some interesting results:

Al-Yom (the day) = 349
Yom’n (a day) = 16
Total 349+16=365

qurancomplex.org/IdIndex/default.asp?job=wordlist&harf=28&page=9&l=arb

Al-Shahr (The month) = 10
Shahr’n (a month) = 2
Total = 12
qurancomplex.org/IdIndex/default.asp?harf=13&l=arb&job=wordlist&Page=9&word=%C7%E1%D4%E5%D1&button1=%C8%CD%CB

I’ll do some more research to verify the rest of the words

added:

Al-Shaitan (Satan) = 68
Al-Malaykah (The Angels)=68

so it seems Satan vs Angels (and not Satans)

the rest of the words in your post don’t seem to match…

"Ali always feels bad when it is happening. He cries and his temperature goes up.

“It’s impossible to hold him when it’s happening, his body is actively moving, so we put him into his cradle. It’s so hard to watch him suffering.”

this is weird:confused:
It would be good idea to bring the baby to a Catholic priest - for prayer and blessing. Sometimes the Evil One manifests in this manner and the victim may need deliverance by the name of Jesus. For every knee must bow and every tongue confess at this name, the name that is above all other names. No other power can withstand the glory of God much less the Evil One.

If I’m not mistaken, which is possible, Fr. Amorth, an exorcist, mentions that sometimes, with demonic possession, this type of writing will appear on the vicitm’s body. It is a manifestation of evil, always. It is never considered good or holy.

I don’t consider “legitimate” news sources as much better than tabloids, myself, but, the secular press wouldn’t touch a thing like that with a ten foot pole. They didn’t cover Fatima, either. Or much that isn’t scandalous by the Church. So, you can’t go by that.

People sometimes receive signal graces, even miracles. I believe my coworker just experienced a healing. It isn’t earth shattering to anyone, except to her, it means the world. Signal graces are for the person they are given to, and maybe a few others.

Do you think it’s possible some people avoid supernatural phenomenon altogether because they fear not being able to discern the spirit?

Yes, it is possible. Pain, anxiety, oppression and physical suffering more often than not are associated with the Evil One which is in contrast with the action of the Holy Spirit which will always give you peace and enhance your faith in God.

None the less every occurrence needs to be assessed on its uniqueness and one needs more information to discern, like past history, relationship, occult practices in this case maybe by the parents or close relative and much more. This will help on what course of action we may want to undertake especially if deliverance prayer is required.

We have to be careful though about external manifestation as not all are evil. St Padre Pio experienced the stigmata (the wound of Jesus) on his hands for fifty years and yet how peaceful and spiritual he was! How he used the charism to help others to heal their own suffering or encouraged them in their faith.

Yes, obviously the secular and the spiritual don’t mix.

I thought it is not reasonable that Christians should ignore supernatural phenomenon. And fearing that they may not know how to discern it is simply irresponsible – there are many people in the church whom we can discuss them with. And the best person surely would be the priest if we are not comfortable with matured lay people.

God can speak to us individually in many ways and we should not simply brush them aside but to discern them.

God bless.

Hi All,

This is unbelievable I saw this news on AOL and it’s just a miracle.

abcnews.go.com/WN/miracle-baby-koran-verses-infants-body/story?id=8889257

news.aol.com/article/russian-muslims-flock-to-see-miracle/732754?icid=main|main|dl1|link4|http%3A%2F%2Fnews.aol.com%2Farticle%2Frussian-muslims-flock-to-see-miracle%2F732754

I"m not very religious but this makes me remember a verse in the Quran which translates to something like

‘And we have left signs of Allah’s existence for those who realize it’

What do you guys think?
