Kudos Catholics!

I recently read this article explaining the church’s response to lawmakers that will plan to vote on the Freedom of Choice Act and my heart jumped up with a big WOOHOO!

I wanted to give a HUGE Thumbs up and a very generous Thank you for all of the Catholics that have continued to remain faithful in the message of truth.

As a fellow Christian I want to say a Thank You to the current Pope that respects life and so firmly and yet lovingly responds to issues of life with truth and nonwaivering support.

What a very hard stance especially for any American Catholics that are under such pressures from the media, our government, and even some so called professing Catholics to change with the so called “times”…my kudos is to the church for remaining steadfast in the truth and for not being afraid to pronounce the truth in spite of how Politically Incorrect it may sound to the world at large!

I second this. The Catholic bishops in America have done (and are doing) a commendable job standing up for the innocent martyrs who have no voice and no choice. The intrinsic evil and genocide of abortion must stop. The fight against the pro-death left wing liberals will be long and hard now that they control the government. The blood of 50 million innocent children cries for justice. Lord have mercy!

Did you read the comments posted by others some who claim that they are “Catholic?” There was so much anger and hate. I found it just as sad as the FOCA and that situation.
On the other side, it brings me a comfort that I’m part of God’s true Church because the Catholic Church is targeted so often by other people. I found the one person’s denial of the fact that the Pope could either hide Jews or publicly denounce Hitler and his actions(in which case those innocent people could die as well as the target of all Catholics). There are stories from people who were in the Vatican at this time. I don’t know… I just think that people don’t want to listen to the Church, and they disagree with her b/c in a way they reject God.
I’m glad our Church told Biden he was wrong in his thinking that the Church didn’t have a stance on abortion, and I’m happy our Church is vocal about it. Maybe we can all pray for those who are not.
Furthermore, aside from protecting the embryos, we have an obligation to educate the mothers. Currently, Oklahoma is trying to pass a law (some states are in the process as well or already have passed a law similar to this) where mothers must view an ultrasound and then wait 24 hours to have an abortion. There are people who don’t know what they are doing, have abortions, and later have to live with that decision, and it’s hard on them.
The FOCA is ridiculous, and I pray it does not pass.
Also, I feel as if I’ll be put in an awkward position when it comes to pay taxes because I don’t think that I should be funding abortions. What do all of you thing?

I have spent several years on internet forums and e-news sites and have come across many people who claim to be catholic only to bash Catholicism and the Church. They do this so they can get some leverage. I have always wondered if this is what their pastors teach them at church - to lie.

Anyways, i’ll be happy for my American Catholic friends if FOCA is burnt to ashes.

Are you implying they aren’t Catholic? I guess I never really considered that. Maybe sometimes wondered. I always assumed they were uneducated Catholics who had no idea what it really meant.
I agree and will be quite happy when the document disappears. I’ve been somewhat worried, but could that even really pass? I don’t know.

Thank you for fighting for life and remaining faithful to the truth. It is hard, indeed, to stay true to Christ - it is very countercultural and seen as “disrespectful, close-minded, perverted, and horrible” by the worldly. God bless!

I’m not Catholic, but I hope that this actually happens to Catholics in Congress who vote for such a thing. Kudos to the church if they actually do it should the time come.

Automatic excommunication is too convenient for murder. The more formal excommunication process is better. And the writ of excommunication should be posted in every Church.

I couldn’t bare to read the comments…however I take much of what I read on the internet in the context with a grain of salt.

I have unfortunately met many Catholics, Methodist, Baptist, and even a few Jews that just did not get the gravity of abortion.

I truly feel that especially for my generation X so it is called…that they have been convinced by the scientific community that it is simply a medical procedure and is not yet life and that therefore we are denying people the choice of a medical procedure.

I personally was a pro-choice teenager and would put my mother in fits of prayer when I would argue that the government should not legislate what I can do with my body.

HOWEVER, I became a mother and felt a human inside of me and was forever changed. I recogonized that life had begun and that I was denying the truth by saying otherwise.
I also had a friend that I tried desperately to talk out of an abortion and yet she went through with it and was three months pregnant…it so rattled me. I still feel guilty that I was not able to literally stand i the doorway and refuse to let her leave the house. That will forever haunt me and since that day I have actually become a very ardent supporter of not just pro-life causes…but also taken to heart the Theology of the Body…it’s a hard retraining of the mind that was raised in this world to think contreception is as well…simply “medicine” and yet…all together my kudos was a thanks to the Catholic Church for remaining steadfast in their beliefs.

I am not Catholic for a few well…basic reformation reasons…however in a book as large as the bible the differences are few…and I have learned so much about my faith that I am grateful to God for those Christians I have met in the Catholic Church. It has helped God shine the light to me in areas of my life I was ignorant of previously.

I do pray FOCA is abolished and that Obama himself is the one that has the change of heart as a direct result of God speaking to him personally and educating him on HIS views of Life!

If you’re for protection and dignity of human life, you’re in the right place. The Catholic Church is the only remaining major institution that is still fighting the abortion slaughterhouse.
