Kuwait’s emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah dies age 91

Kuwait’s ruler Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has died aged 91, Kuwait’s national news agency Kuna announced on Tuesday.
“With great sadness and sorrow, we mourn as the Kuwaiti people, the Arab and Islamic nations, and the friendly people of the world, the death of the late His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait. To God we belong and to God we will return” Kuna reported.
Prior to the announcement of his death, Kuwait cut all regular programming and broadcast verses from the Quran, in a rare move that signals the forthcoming annoucement of an important death.
