Me and my family met up with some of our other relatives at a condo. They had told us about the Mass they had gone to and wanted us to see the Church. The first thing I noticed was a arrow outside the Church pointing to the “Labyrinth” and sure enough there was one right in front of the Church.
It was locked when we arrived but they also informed me that the altar was in the middle surrounded by the pews. I said I didn’t even think they were allowed to do this.
Now, I did not attend the Mass but just these two things seem to scream out liturgical abuse. Is there anything prohibitting labyrinths and having the altar in the middle of the Church as opposed to it’s usual position at the front? Am I just overeacting? The whole idea just gave me a bad feeling about the parish.
