I was just watching Mother Angelica’s Saturday night classic and the question she asked was
"what do you fear?’

I don’t have an answer to that even after a good examine of conscience. I am in a state of grace. I know that. God loves me, I know that.

I can’t answer the question “what do you fear”

How would you answer that question?

Sin, and dying in it.

Additionally, I saw a clip from 127 Hours today… cutting off my arm is up there as well.

Have you ever watched It? I don’t know about the new one, but the old one had this clown spider giant thing. Pretty freaky.

Dragons, too. Not the Asian kind, but the Western ones.

Death, Cancer, smallpox, open heart surgery, WWIII, and Hell.

We can have the fear of the Lord. We fear Him out of our love for Him.

I can’t answer the question “what do you fear”
Perhaps you’re trying to answer the question “what do you think might happen in your life that you fear?”

No one is fearless, even Jesus feared his crucifixion. Would you fear crucifixion? But yes you may be lucky that you have nothing to fear in your life that you reasonably could expect.

Jesus feared OUR fallen condition more than the
shame and suffering of His imminent crucifixion,
WE TOO should look out for our Neighbor’s good!!

Being alone, dark spaces, enclosed spaces, someone I love dying, hell, demons, insects, heights, I could go on :’)

Hurting God. I fear hurting Him. Which is one reason I look forward to death… once I’m dead, I can’t hurt Him any more. He’s suffered so much already.

Also, I fear the suffering of others, most specifically my kids. It breaks my heart to think they might/will suffer and I might not be able to “fix” it. The thought of the suffering of any infant or child, really, scares and hurts me.
