I was looking up information on German saints and I found one St. Gereon of Koln. He is honored in Coptic Orthodoxy, yet not in Catholicism. The land of Cologne, in Germany, seems to honor the man, yet not Catholicism as a whole. Does anyone have an explanation?
And if so, why? Or why not?
We recognize St. Maurice, the leader of the Theban legion, but not Gereon, a soldier of the legion. It’s simply odd.
