Not sure where to put this, but mods, please move if I’m in the wrong spot…thank you!

I was curious if any of the ladies here, have found any new makeup products that you’d like to share…I have! lol:bounce:

I went to Macy’s a few weekends ago, and discovered a new line called Benefit. I bought a lipliner, and pinkish glossy lip gloss…that is so pretty, I can’t believe it. I have looked high and low for a good lip liner (like a brownish pink, with the light pink gloss to fill in the lips) and almost gave up…so glad I found this line. And it’s reasonable…I think both items came to under $30. I was impressed. It gives my lips an almost plummish look…I love love love it!👍

I also found a new eye makeup–I think it’s called Elmani. I have to check when I get home. It’s a mish mosh of smokey blues, grays, silvers, and whites…and it is very sparkly…so it gives your eyes a beautiful smoky look. I have been trying to do that for a while now, but this product makes it quick and easy…for nights out with hubby…or for the office. Sometimes, smoky eyes look okay for daytime, if you watch how much you put in the eyelid crease.

Anyways…please share…also, if you have any face moisturizers that you recommend? I have been using Aveeno’s daily moisturizer and really like it…I also have tried Dr Weil’s line, at Origins, but I wanted something more reasonably priced.

Look forward to your replies…thanks ladies!🙂

doh! I knew that was comin.’

As a matter of fact…It was in my budget! 👍 😃
Awesome! 👍

I’m starting to explore grocery store makeup again (Max Factor, L’Oreal, Neutragena, etc) b/c Clinque is just so darn expensive. I use their base almost exclusively, but I buy other items from the grocery brands.

Fortunately, working from home I use SOOO much less now!

Me too…I have enjoyed getting to know the Aveeno products, and I also like Maybelline’s mascara. I buy Chanel blush, as some grocery store blushes break my skin out in a rash…so that is sort of self defeating lol!

Oh, you’re lucky…I know, when I’m cleaning the house, etc…I really don’t wear any makeup. But, it’s fun to play dress up now and again for hubby…🙂

OMGoodness, have you ladies missed our Everyday Minerals Vortex threads???:whackadoo:

$30 could buy you a whole caboodle full there!**

1ke;

I have a confession…about my confession over the weekend. lol

So, I went to confession with my dd…and I decided to ask the priest about my spending habits, and is it sinful to buy jewelry if I spot something I like…bla bla. He was silent. I don’t think he had ever heard something like this. lol He asked for clarification, and I said…‘buying more on impulse, without thinking it through, but you have the money to do so.’

He then replied…‘well…are you paying your bills?’ I said, yes. He said…‘are you ignoring others’ needs, by shopping for yourself?’ I said, no. I am pretty generous with my kids and husband. He said…‘as long as you are not shirking your responsibilities to others and to your debtors, it is fine to spend money on one’s self. Also, as long as you are not spending money, like an alcoholic turns to a drink, then you are ok.’ :ehh:

Then I was silent. I think sometimes I just like shopping, and if I have a headache or something, it makes me feel better. Is that stupid or what? I used to have an emotional attachment to shopping, but I don’t anymore…but, I admit that at times I can feel like I ‘need’ to go shopping. Anyways, I thought you’d find that confession interesting…:o

WG i assume you have seen the Everyday Minerals thread? Or have you been living under a rock:D 😛

Seriously the stuff is great. I recently was out of my everyday minerals foundation and grabbed some Laura Mercier base from my sister who has tons, and I realized I will never go back to old fashioned foundation EVAR!!! Once you go Everyday Minerals you never go back.

I’ve heard great things about meow minerals as well.

The one peev I have with EM is their lip stuff, it’s awful. So, that means I still get to pick up a lip gloss here and there at the store. I like Revlon lip gloss the best so far. I also like Sonia Kashuk lipstick, she’s got a great red which is hard to find.

I think my fav dept store brand is Trish Mc Evoy which I think is only at Nordstrom? Far too spendish for me, but I get freebies from my Nordstrom manager sister.

Hubby works with cow sh*t for a living. Whether I have makeup on or not never even registers on his radar.

I remember seeing the thread, and glancing through, but was a tad bit wary of not being able to test the makeup (can only purchase online, right?)…sometimes, I like that about shopping at the mall…I can test something at least on my wrist to see if it might match my skintone well. How do you tell what’s right for you? I’m excited. Can never have too much makeup, jewelry, or clothes…or handbags. I’m not a shoe girl though. lol:D

Yes, it seems to me that particular priest is out of touch with what you were bringing to him as a spiritual issue.

And, he definitely missed the bigger picture.

Okay ms blunt, thanks for sharing that tidbit. lol!!!😃

Try the smoky eyes look one night, just for fun. My husband was like…‘woah, do we HAVE to go out tonight?’ :o I didn’t think it looked that good. :ehh: lol

I like it:shrug:… it’s not the best stuff ever and the texture is different, but I make it work…lol…but I am not opposed to buying other lip stuff too:D

Oh, you don’t think he was trying to bring it around implying that if someone has an addiction to something like shopping, etc…that it could be problematic?

Listen up people…seriously…Benefit lip gloss…the color Ibought is titled…‘talk to my agent.’ ha Silly name, but so pretty. Feels good on, glides on nicely…and it pretty reasonable…like I think it was $15 per lip gloss and I bet this will last me months and months. Look at the link:

benefitcosmetics.com/gp/node/n/164953011?ie=UTF8&bcBrand=core&SR=sr2bc34go85sx268pi2ai2&ext_id=ps_ggl_SBUS_Brand/Brand/

Their marketing looks to be geared for 20 somethings, but really…the makeup is terrific. The lip gloss almost stains your lips, doesn’t look overdone. I love this stuff!

Ok, back to work, so I can buy more. :rotfl:

Just joking, 1ke hahahaha:o

Well, $15 may not seem like much, but that’s just not in MY budget, lol. I don’t think I’ve ever spent that much on lip gloss…even when I was a teen with a job and no bills to pay:blush:

I recently found that GoJo makes just a mediocre substitute for specialty microderm abrasion products.

Something about the orange really started to burn after a little bit of rubbing, and my face was a bit red that evening. However, the results in the morning were on par with the m.a. products I’ve used in the past. Would’ve been better, perhaps, but I couldn’t rub it in for as long because of the burning.😛
